The Visitors (1993)

A Foolish French Fable
19 October 2021
Jean-Marie Poiré's cartoonishly silly time travel caper about a knight and his squire thrust through time and into contemporary France is good for a hoot. At times it's bewilderingly, all-consumingly French and quite endearing for it. Jean Reno is a solid comedy straight man to Clavier's gurning Jacquouille but it starts to trip itself over by the end and parts of it certainly belong in 1993, if not the middle ages.
