Yes i can see this spurned East Enders and added to this Ken Loach debut .Those ingredients are suffice to alert me to keep well clear of these negative one way streets that never lead anywhere but down down down, Inspire, Educate , Entertain, none of which this or for that matter any Loach narrative ever attempts ! His total oeuvre has always doggedly followed the same old, same old over and over destruction, negativity, blah blah blah of no way of escaping his self made damp, dark and miserable dungeon after dungeon!. No escape and never ever solution.

I do not know if any actors did ever want to work with him more than once, that said it would not surprise me if not many did ?

And yes I believe he does strike up a good rapport with many professional actors and especially with non actors. I understand he gives a pretty fair amount of flexibility to all his pro and non pro participants. That said, he presumably has a method of ensuring no comic ad libbing or light heartedness , which so often on set lightens the mood for the better. My very personal opinion, i would never give any time to his unrelentless slice of life , which i think may have been originally inspired by some uncomfortable or even horrific early life experience ?
