Review of To Live

To Live (1994)
9/10
Real reflection of the life in 60's in China mainland
2 February 2022
I was born in China. When I was young, my grandparents told me a lot of things about the culture revolution. At first, I didn't believe. But as I grow up and read a lot of books and browers the Internet outside of China, it shocked me a lot. Comes to this movie, I feel glad to see that it was filmed in 90's, when the culture is more tolerated, (which now is more restricted). The movie really reflects a very ordinary people's whole life. It's crucial but real. Reality carries the power. It's really inspired to see that the people could know the truth of the history, and then they could proceed with directions. The director is so talent to film the movie.
