Having a meal together is core to the Chinese culture, it heavily affect the relationships of the family. This movie revolves around dinners, with each dinner, the characters got more and more uncomfortable with each other, until a breaking point. I love how even till the end of the movie, the issues they have with each other are still not resolved, yet they are willing to tackle them together, as a family.
The acting of Min Chen really surprised me, the balcony scene is, without a doubt, unforgettable. I am even more impress in knowing she does not speak fluent Cantonese.
The dynamic between Tsz Wah Gor and the other actors is mesmerising, it generated a lot of laughter. His lines are filled with his classic humor, reminding Hongkonger of his comedic talents.
