6/10
Mechanic: uninspired

Some solid fighting especially that opening and great shots around the world. This I found more enjoyable than the obligatory mention of The Transporter franchise as I feel this would have been a better addition than the horrible third movie which the only thing that made it kind of fun was seeing Robert Knepper who played T-bag in Prison Break. The assassinations seem a bit too easy and convenient but then again what can any of us do in 24 hours, especially the first one how it seems pretty effortless he escapes. The bad guy I couldn't take too seriously and when he actually did have a fight scene and used an assault rifle I was a bit surprised. The movie got a bit dull after the second assassination. Jessica Alba actually looks great in this movie as usually I just thought "meh" when she hit the scene as everyone wouldn't shut up about her. Maybe it's the hair dye or the makeup department who knows. She barely does anything to win him over and yeah you'll have to see the rest of the movie to see what happens.

5.5 out of 10 if I was to review it. Some scenes dragged on a bit long. I do admire they tried to give him a bit of back story the way John Wick was written in future films as well. Would I watch this again? Probably in a couple of years and I had nothing else to watch as there are worse Jason Statham movies especially in the beginning of his career.
