It's really unfair that nowadays we refer to Victorian period or Victorian mentality like something bad, like something very archaic when in fact Queen Victoria was one of the greatest ruler of all times and not just in Britain, and oh yes, she was a woman. I think Jenna Coleman who plays Queen Victoria proves justice to that last bit, indeed a women can govern and she can do it extremely well, regardless of her size, or how the movie puts it: "To me mam you're every inch a queen". The movie shows a queen that was ambitious, intelligent, powerful and determined to modernize a country and a world. Not sure how Jenna Coleman got such a good insight on Queen Victoria, but throughout the whole movie you will be able to see the queen and not an actress playing a role. Is it a good movie? No! It is a great movie.
