The premise of a Christmas movie, set in beautiful London in the snow, will always be a huge draw.
From very early on in the movie though, it becomes clear that the lead was poorly cast. It's not clear if the script made it a challenge to act, or the acting was so weak that it made the script feel boring. With very little flow or personality in the writing and the acting being so amateur and over-exaggerated in low key moments, we wanted this film to be so much more than it was.
The sets and camera work is top end. London looks beautiful. The early flood of great reviews make me suspicious though.
