Baby, It's Cold Inside (2021 TV Movie)
6/10
What a gorgeous hotel!

The funny title of Baby Its Cold Inside has audiences wondering what the plot could possibly be. It doesn't disappoint! Jocelyn Hudon stars as a travel writer sent on an assignment she didn't want over Christmas. Instead of celebrating her holiday on a tropical island, she gets to freeze her fingers off in an ice hotel! And yes, it's very cold inside. Everything is made of ice, including her bed. It's worth watching this movie just to get an inside look at the real Hotel de Glace in Quebec. The visuals are so beautiful, it'll make everyone in the audience want to book a Christmas vacation there the following year. I've already looked up reservations online!

The downside is unfortunately the leading lady. Jocelyn has a surprisingly flawed character. She's always messing up and apologizing, like ruining a special dessert that can't be replicated, or dropping and breaking things. She may be pretty, but she comes across as both incredibly inept and insecure. So why does Steve Lund like her? He's the very capable owner and architect of the hotel who creates new ice sculptures every year and runs the everyday management alongside his devoted (and also capable) assistant, Melinda Michael. What does he see in Hannah, the walking accident? Still, I'd recommend this movie because of the scenery. You can tune out the romance if you want and just look at the ice.
