Loved the romance here! It's kind of similar to "Gilda". A person marrying another person not out of love, and falling for someone else in that husbands face. Both kissing and "husbands" seeing it and things change dramatically! I love this movie with a young Grant and Bergman. I love the jealous behavior he gives out that is so noticeable! The clear signs she loves him when they have the government meetings with the other associates. The banter, the mannerisms! They don't make movies like this! The movie seems to go fast. But usually does when it's a good movie. The end was beautiful! Professing love and ending up together. I saw a transcript of an alternate ending and wish they had that ending instead of this one but I'm still very happy they end up together! (The other ending they still end up together)
Alternative ending: secretaries put away government ID's and profiles and apparently an associate puts away Alicia's papers, they had to take her folder out to change her last name from her ex husbands last name to her new married name: Devlins name. They go to the alphabetized organizer drawer and put her updated papers right next to her parter/husbands papers, and realize he put his vacation days in and had asked for X amount of days and the reason: celebration. Associates banter about how wonderful it must be to have that many days off for a honeymoon.
