Aging movie star Veronica Ghent (Alice Krige) travels to an isolated retreat in Scotland with her nurse Desi (Kota Eberhardt). She's recovering from mastectomy, but it's more her hiding from the world. She is still haunted by her relationship with actor Eric Hathbourne (Malcolm McDowell) when she was starting out as a child actor. She is shocked to find the retreat filled with a new-age group. The local water is supposedly infused with the ashes of burnt witches from long ago.
I like the visuals and the set-up. I was hoping for more from the creepy new age group. Veronica should be infected sooner and start killing sooner. The kills would culminate with Eric and maybe Desi would be the one stopping her. This is more arthouse than horror and that is fine. Although it's not for everyone.
