AMAZING CHEMISTRY AND WRITING

Warning: Spoilers
A round of applause for Clea Duvall. What's important in telling a story about different relationships in a film is on screen and on time chemistry and here that was done beautifully. From Annie's (Melanie Lynskey) obvious drinking problem coming back to light masking her guilt of her contradicting desires. Matt's (Jason Ritter) consistently clingy yet catering responses towards Annie's needs. Displaying they are more like best friends who love each other than lovers. Jack's (Ben Schwartz) internal struggle with his apparent loss and Lola's (Alia Shawcat) freely sexual spirit. Forcing Lola to care enough to mature and Jack to be in the moment instead of get by the moment. Peter's (Vincent Piazza) distant outer shell and Ruby's (Cobie Smulder)hard outer shell driving an on going wedge between them. But showing at the same time that their souls are tied and just currently lost. Jessie's (Clea Duvall) resistance to getting too serious and reoccurring getting bored in the relationship phase and Sarah's (Natasha Lyonne) desire for more depth with Jessie while having her own secret desires. Portraying you change when you're in love despite those desires.

From the camera angles, the scenes between character's, the hilarious banter down to the facial expressions of each character for telling their personal dilemmas. The ability to show these feelings without saying them upfront was unmatched with this cast of pure talent.

Amazingly done and written Clea Duvall !
