Written and directed by John Sayles with the theme is somewhat similar to "Driving Miss Daisy", which centers on the unlikely relationship between an African American maid, Chantelle and an egocentric soap opera actress, May-Alice Culhane whose confined to a wheel chair. The film carries itself by it's two star performances of Mary McDonald and Alfre Woodard- do not expect anything else, for it's reminiscent of a play in which the two leads play off one another. Nominated for two Oscars including Best Original Screenplay for John Sayles and Best actress for Mary McDonald.
