Jarhead was a very well done war movie that is good but for the reasons you'd think. The story line covers before, during and after the life of a Marine but without much of an emphasis on the violence. It really honed in on the community, relationships, struggles, effects, etc. Of being a Marine and being deployed. It was really interesting to see a well done movie that captured that side of war while still being reasonably entertaining. Sure, it could have used some more action but that wasn't the point. Gyllenhaal delivered another amazing acting performance as well. Just a good watch overall.
