From the fist episode you can understand that "dead city" is very loyal to main show but the problem is flashback and back stories stop this show to grow for a single good show. For me plot is very stronger than "fear the walking dead" and that show how walking dead universe improved themselves after the main show but the problem is they really have problem for develop new characters somehow without characters like Maggie and Negan the show would be kind of boring because it takes time to really people get along with new characters.
But of course people like whose really fan of walking dead gonna love this show.
