Good, fun, but misses some important details.

As an old D&D player since the 1st Edition, I liked that the movie brought alot of my favorite RPG to life. It was fun, witty, and worthy of the spirit of the game. However, some key elements were left out. The Bard, played by Chris Pine, had zero abilities, other than singing and being a sad, washed-up loser trying to rebuild his life, when Bards can add many benefits to a party's success. The Tiefling looks nothing like the racial class in the game description, and she really adds minimal contributions to the quest. Michelle Rodriguez was phenomenal as the female barbarian fighter, and her fight scenes were top notch. I didn't see any real purpose for the Paladin other than some comic relief, although he was well played. Finally, I think the whole "diversity" thing was overdone. I'm not opposed to diverse casting, but it looks like great effort was spent in getting as close to a 50/50 ratio as possible, which in my opinion is silly. If you want to go that far, Asians are noticeably absent. Maybe we should just keep the game multiracial and let various actors play those races as the are portrayed in the game?
