The teen comedy genre has many, many films that fall into it. Some miss the mark entirely, some hit it out of the park, and most are too similar to differentiate. Mean Girls is a stand out of the genre and likely of of the most iconic. With laughs for everyone, a plot that anyone can relate to, and a star studded cast giving fantastic performances, this does a great job at capturing the high school/life confusion that every person goes through. I can't bring myself to rate this genre any higher than 8/10, as it all is the same basic formula and the performances and humor are the only things that elevate it from the rest. I can't say I wasn't wishing for a moment that diverges completely from the commonly traveled high school flick path, but even without, it was a fun and enjoyable film.
