I relate to these characters so much, but especially to Maya and Carina. They teach me that my love for another person is valid. They help me accept and love myself for who I am. They teach me that my family and past don't define me. This WLW representation is authentic and one of the very few ones on network television. The representation of an authentic and loving relationship between two women on network television is still a rarity.
This series has brought a smile to my face when I needed it most and helped me in my darkest times. These characters and their storylines are close to my heart.
