I really liked the tv serie Hawkeye, Echo was an interesting character, and so, I was looking forward to watching this. I read the news about this serie, so I knew to tone down my expectations.
They put warnings, they confirmed that the Netflix Marvel shows were canon. Echo is supposed to follow the same equation. It's a first taste for what's to come.
The introduction of magic was so out of nowhere, it reminded me of Iron fist with how useless and stupid it was. The characters kept making stupid decisions, ESPECIALLY THE ENEMIES, nothing made sense, you're supposed to turn your brain off. The music was cringe at times, it totally kills the serious tone the serie is trying so hard to maintain.
Episode 3 was so infuriating, It seriously reached the same amount of cringe you get when watching Madame web's trailer.
If you want to know who Maya is, just watch Hawkeye. At least that's a show that doesn't take itself too seriously and yet it still managed to be way better and grounded than Echoes.
