Firstly, I have not seen I am Sam so I cannot compare. I felt to some extent Vikram overdid his character. However, the film is a Comedy Drama and is able to make you both laugh and cry successfully which is a big achievement. Rarely does a film make you do both successfully. When I watched this film in theaters, many people have actually cried while watching the climax scene and the credits goes to GV Prakash who did a fantastic job with a BG Score. While the story is about a intellectually disabled man trying to get back his daughter from his in-laws family, the scenes in the movie constantly makes us laugh and connect with the characters which also help enhance the emotional scenes as well. All the characters have done a fantastic job including Amala Paul, Anushka, all the characters that were with Vikram in Ooty, Santhanam and the Victor Character and none of the characters felt wasted. This is one of the few movies which makes you cry and yet make you feel good as well when the ending credits roll.
