We partially lose what makes the magic of 'live-action'
7 May 2024
A rather lively and pleasant narration. Some good ideas like this particular shape of window that Caesar has in his room and which he will draw in captivity to remember this happy past.

The limit of the film is perhaps its fundamental artificiality, illustrated by the massive importance of digital technology in the representation of all the apes. It's not badly done in itself but it is ostensibly false, and we partially lose what makes the magic of 'live-action', of the reconstitution of reality in film form, of the flesh which lives on the screen, in opposition to animation films for example.
