Sicario (2015)

Very powerful

Great film totally mastered by the geometric and vast mise-en-scene of Denis Villeneuve, who puts himself at the service of an impressive representation of the Mexican cartels and the way in which the USA fights against them. It's classic and effective, like the solid interpretations of Del Toro and Brolin. An aerial shot of the desert becoming a visual abstraction illustrates the implacable harshness of this world, of our world. The film reaches its emotional peak in the arc of the corrupt Mexican policeman and his son, where in a few devastating shots everything is said about the tragedy of violence. Very powerful.
