Merely average XXX movie
The_Void26 June 2007
Well, I spent an hour watching this film, but I have to say that there isn't much that can be said for or about it. Undressed to Kill is basically just your average XXX film that has a hell of a lot of sex and not much in the way of anything else. The plot supposedly follows a devil worshipping cult being investigated by a female reporter, but this is actually just a front for director Ray Dennis Steckler to film lots of hard porn around this very loose wraparound story. The alternative title 'Sexorcist Devil' is probably a little better than the one I saw it under, Undressed to Kill; but of course I'm only mentioning this due to a lack of things to say about the actual film. I've seen a fair few films like this, and this one isn't really below average; but it's not above average either, it's just very average. The women aren't particularly hot, and while the sex is fairly dirty; I'm pretty sure that anyone with a mind to see this film will have seen it all before. The gritty cinematography gives it more of a low quality feel than the film has anyway, and overall I can't really think of a single good reason why one might want to bother with this. My advice is not to bother tracking it down.

There is a beast in man that should be sexercised, not exorcised.

Warning: Spoilers
Done in a documentary style, Diane is a reporter researching an article for an Occult magazine, and decides to accompany "occult expert & Sexorcist*" Dr. Von Kleinsmidt to "The Marsh" {a blighted (super) natural wilderness akin to The Devil's Canyon}, a dangerous environment steeped in nefarious superstition about a "sex-crazed Devil worship cult" supposedly performing rites of darkness out there, until he comes upon a mysterious box containing parchments, which he takes back with him to his study for translation. Unbeknownst to him, while he does so, he unwittingly calls forth a "perverse disciple of The Devil" named "Volta" {Wayne Williams} who takes possession of Diane's friend Janice, a prostitute he uses to seduce and kill everyone around her while taking his pleasures as well. He initiates her by bestowing a pendant displaying "Set" upon her, while together uttering "Hail Satan!" with uplifted Cornus.

When Diane becomes suspicious after a phone call to Janice, she returns home to find her afflicted with a demon trying to possess her, but it is all a ruse, and surprisingly, she is also dispatched, as is her pimp, but not before Von Kleinsmidt is alerted, who attempts to battle these "evil spirits" by using passages from The Goetia {The 'Lesser Key of Solomon', a blindlight tome by a blindlight author, who was subservient to the mythological Jehovic god}, admonishing demons to submit, yet because of Volta's quick efforts {with a gesture used by Crowley to signify horns on the sides of the head}, manages to materialize a knife in the hand of the possessed Janice, who stabs Von Kleinsmidt to death. A smiling Volta proclaims success, that Satan's will has been fulfilled, and walks back into the wilderness. {Hypothetically, "We Win!"} Mentionable are some of the intriguing paintings in Von Kleinsmidt's office {Satan arising, embracing a witch; a Reaper goosing a Lilithian witch holding a serpent, perhaps representing the kundalini; a demonic beast tearing prey limb from limb; and a portrait of the setting sun in The West}, which do resemble Dr. LaVey's style, and the recurrent appearance of an image of a lion resembling Togare. Also, the appearance of a Baphomet in the ending credits.

_________ * According to the film, "Sexorcism" is "removing The Devil from your body while he's sexually possessing it."

The Sexorcist (1974)

** (out of 4)

Above-average porn flick from Ray Dennis Steckler about a female reporter who while living with her prostitute friend tries to uncover the truth of a Satanic cult staying in the area. I think that's what the plot is but if you're familiar with the work of Steckler then you already know that it's sometimes hard to figure out exactly what's going on. With that said, I found this film to be slightly better than many of his other films in the genre. I'm really not sure what it is about the work of Steckler but it's not like you "watch" or "enjoy" his movies but instead you just witness them. You can say he makes genre movies yet none of his movies really fit into genres but instead they're just a part of his filmography that only his fans are going to understand. This is a fairly bizarre porn film even by the 70's standards as the sex scenes aren't really shot that well and the majority of them are just oral sex with the director once again really only wanting to focus on the money shot. I'm not sure why that is but it's something I've noticed in his hardcore works. As you'd expect, none of the performances are really worth mentioning but for the most part everyone will at least keep you entertained. It's also worth noting that there are a couple bloody murders here with a lot of the red stuff but this red stuff is usually missing from Steckler's horror movies. Go figure.

A film that quizzes the social depiction of horror films.
dabooterang1125 August 2012
Me and my Father once again decided to get another film in for our Dirty Film Friday's and this time we went with 'The Sexorcist' at my suggestion as while 'The Exorcist' scared the living flatulence out me I thought this would be less scary and boy was I wrong...

The film has very dark coloured and eerie mise en scène from the beginning, I was really worried because I just can't deal with films that are likely to scare me.

The storyline was so engaging and immersive that I actually felt like I was there which considering the amount of sex scenes in this film is a great thing... it's been a while *OKAY* guys?!

So onto the actresses themselves, while they weren't exactly the flirtatious, Provocative and inviting vixens I have encountered from previous films they were very good performers. In fact, my father recalled that he "Hasn't seen anything this dirty since I was changing you as a baby." which is a great indication for you all because I've always suffered from IBS.

The dialogue was amazingly captivating, scary and mysterious at times I couldn't believe how authentic the whole experience was. I was so scared and gripped when the woman disclosed in a frantic manner that she has a demon 'inside' her that needs to be removed.

The only real complaint that I do have is that one of the actresses has a remarkable resemblance in the downstairs region to my pet hamster and it sort of put me off the food I was eating at the time.

All in all though I'd say a very great film experience that everyone should check out at least once. I've lent the DVD out to my brother because his wife is going on holiday for 2 weeks and I'm sure he's going to love it!

My rating - 8/10 - Great film, but I wish razors were more prominent in the 1974 My Dads rating - 10/10 - Reminded him of the real film and he found the storyline was a very virtuous experience for him.

Doing the nasty for Satan
Woodyanders31 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So, according to this typically off-kilter hardcore horror offering from the always outre Ray Dennis Steckler good ol' Satan isn't above recruiting prostitutes to do his evil bidding. Of course, this basic plot setup is essentially an excuse for a series of raunchy sex scenes that certainly deliver the lowdown greasy goods. Moreover, busty brunette Lily Lamarr performs her various carnal responsibilities with earthy aplomb, Wayne Williams portrays wicked Satanist Volta with considerable deliciously hammy brio, and Steckler's former wife Carolyn Brandt looks super foxy as a pesky journalist even though she alas keeps her clothes on throughout. The grungy cinematography further adds to this film's overall sordid tone. In addition, we even get a pleasingly dark and nihilistic ending along with a few bloody knife murders. A nice slice of grimy sleaze.
