Well, this will be a short, minimal review, because at this time I have only seen the first 2 episodes of this short series. I wasn't sure if it was a reality series or something like the old "Breaker High" set on a cruise ship, but it's a reality/documentary.
10 kids selected across the globe depart on a 5 week sailboating adventure through the Bahamas. The group is divided unequally onto 2 boats, with 2 boys and girl on the smaller boat, and the remaining 7 on the bigger boat. There is an expedition leader, 2 or 3 assistants and a teacher (though I think the adults are all teachers) along to keep up with the school work.
The first day the students/sailors come in a few numbers at a time to Nassau, getting to know one another. They're subjected to a swimming test to ensure that they're able to tread water just in case they need to. They're also beginning to bond and it's becoming clear that one student is quickly regretting her decision to join the voyage.
The scenery is breathtaking, and obviously each child has their own "chores" or responsibilities aboard each boat towards making things run smoothly, from the rigging to the dishes, to catching dinner by diving to the sandy bottom of a Cay to bring up conch.
Again, I've only seen the first two episodes that are 30 minutes each, but I'd readily recommend this little mini-marathon for a viewing!
