A movie with essence
anelagnifirering922 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I was a kid when I first saw this wonderful movie, and its scenes and songs instantly touched me. Mammotty dons his best ever looks. The movie based on drug abuse in colleges, brought a wonderful insight into drugs and its ways. Its got action, comedy, a love story, great songs, the one I like the most is when they get drunk, and start dancing in the streets, "Shanthamee rathreeyil...."

The movie ends with our hero dying, the good news is he died a hero. as he takes out the bad guy, and leaves behind wonderful memories. Overall, it had a beautiful message. Live life to attain value rather than success.

One of classics of 90s cinema, with a western feel

The ratings doesn't do justice to the actual movie. Director Jayaraj's has done a brilliant job and it essentially captures the essence of 90s, the current generation of audience might not get that. The film has a Hollywood western feel to it. The movie has many iconic scenes that are etched in our memories and this was one of the biggest blockbusters at that time.

Film has evolved and the genre that appeals more now are thrillers which might have given this movie a bad rating, but I assure the film holds good value for entertainment even current times and those of who have not watched it still must definitely give it a try.

Underwhelming movie !!

Movie that does not generate much interest in this viewer. You have Mammotty who first plays a cowboy and then a college student. He looked out of place in both the settings; Much as I like Mammotty, seeing him rocking on a stage is a bit too much to stomach.

You have a bunch of rank amateurs who are given undeserved importance throughout the movie. You have a villain who looks like he was picked off the street without an audition. He had only one expression throughout the movie without a spare. The henchmen looked like they would keel over with a slight gust of wind. All in all an underwhelming cast. The makers of the movie thought they would make a movie that would have some kind of cult following, unfortunately they failed miserably to impress. The story and the treatment of the movie looked foreign to the malyalam cinema. The ending was absolutely ridiculous too. So thumps down for me, one of the weak Mammotty movies.
