Sexist, poor technically, but great acting
atuthill28 August 2002
Alright. The writing was good, so was the acting of ALL the actors. But technically it was awful, sound was horrible, it looked like anything that a first year student could do.

The other main issues were that the guys talked WAY too much. You cut off the head of Allison and you really needed to show the damage of all after the final apt. scene As well it was tough to tell that two characters had just gotten it on, when he is still fully dressed and showing no emotion. It felt like a movie that little boys would make, not men with girlfriends, wives and mothers!!!!!

Well, we tried

This movie needed about $10k more than it had: I was a camera operator, gaffer and grip on most of the show. We had no crew. We had no equipment, and if we did, there was no crew to put it up. Shot selection was, more often than not, forsaken for speed to get through all the dialog.

Sometimes I wish people would stand up and just shoot movies; times like this one I wish they would sit down, think about what they were trying to accomplish, and make better plans.

We did what I could, and we stand by that. It was a learning experience through and through.

A great cast of zany characters, coupled with witty dialog makes for a solid flick!

Yes I realize this is a low-budget production, but after only a few minutes you forget that you're watching a low budget film. Aside from a few minor imperfections this is a very good movie! The writing is outstanding - really witty and very, very funny at times. Love the trunk scenes!! The acting too is fantastic, something which is usually lost on low budget films. It's not just a bunch of guys sitting around a diner talking about chicks. These are actual fictional characters. It's very much like an Out Of Sight or Jackie Brown. It's especially amazing considering how many different characters are in the film. The bad guy Cecil is really cool and the 'Digs' character is a riot! Add to this the cool locations and production values! Combined with a great 'film noir' look. Plus a really strong soundtrack and score. I think this movie is worth a look. The directing is solid. There are no crazy experimental camera tricks, weird angles or strange underlying themes. Just good storytelling. It plays out like a real Hollywood film. The ending and flashback scenes are very well done! Bravo!

Almost Good, Definitely Damaged

It is quite possible that this film was well written but the sound quality was so poor there were periods of minutes where you couldn't hear anything but traffic. So it was hard to tell. I almost wanted to leave about 15 minutes into it. My friends and I just happend upon the screening. We go the rep theatres on a regular basis. Often we are pleasently surprised by these low budget, fun movies. Unfortunately not so this time. I couldn't get past the fact that I was watching a low budget film, it screamed it with every crackle and pop.

The acting did seem good I can't argue that, they really seemed to give it their all with what they were given. Although I have to say that the one person I felt gave a charactured performance was the Digs character. (too much) Everyone else seemed real except him.

There are only two words aside from FIX SOUND that I can think of to help this movie get better TOO LONG, it needs to be edited down.

Don't get me wrong this could be a really fun and entertaining film, just fix it.
