I remember watching this nearly 40 years ago.
It was a big budget ITV production about the Suez crisis.
I knew little about that event at the time and have been fascinated by it ever since. I remember the programme being heavily promoted by ITV but watching the thing was difficult,it was more a history lesson than a drama.
The same writers Philby,Burgess and Maclean has been on dvd for years, can't see why this is unavailable.
As I said I have been reading about the Suez crisis for years,I don't understand why people say that it was the end of Britain's role in the middle east when British troops were sent to Jordan in 1958 and Kuwait in 1961 and all the time were defending the Gulf states.
