a great tale of enthusiastic people

I happened to turn on the TV just as this was starting. I did not intend to watch it but after a few minutes i could not turn it off. This Hoot takes place on the veranda of a house that is used for a community radio station in South Australia. All the people involved are amateurs and just like to look country and sing country. Names such a Miss Behaviour, Ruby Ruby, The Texettes. They have a ball. Much of the music is original and they sound great. One of the performers said that he turned up every week for 18 months before he got up the courage to go up and sing his songs. It made me want to get up on that veranda and sing along (i cannot sing) and play an instrument ( i cannot do that either). This is actually allowed as anyone is welcome to join those on the veranda. There is a trombone player who is always up there playing and it sounds like he is a long way from being classed as 'good'. Another of the entertainers now makes steel guitars as he always wanted one but could not afford the $3000 to $4000. So he made his own. A great documentary which i recommend to anyone with an interest in music.
