Merlyn is back and she is going after Sheriff Buck
Tweekums4 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
As this episode opens Sheriff Buck is in the confession box in church; he isn't confessing though, he is listening as the priest tells him various things other people have confessed to. These include a lawyer's wife who put tacks in the road as a protest against the heavy traffic and the fact that Caleb Temple is seeing Merlyn again. It turns out that the lawyer, W. Bryan Hudson, recently won a six hundred thousand dollar case against the Trinity Police Department so when he is invited to see Lucas he doesn't expect him to make generous offer for his house on behalf of a French company that is buying land in the area… there is a problem though; Bryan's father promised Bernie, an elderly blind tenant, that he could live in his small house on the property as long as he is alive and he intends to stay in his home even when offered somewhere 'better'… if Bryan is to take advantage of the Sheriff's offer he will have to find a way of getting Bernie out of his house. Of course there is a twist and Bryan doesn't quite get the deal he hoped for. Meanwhile Merlyn is back in town and she is working to help those who have been having dealings with Lucas; both guiding the priest back to righteousness and trying to help Bryan make the right choice. She is also determined to deal with Lucas Buck once and for all; that won't be easy though.

This was another top notch episode; Buck was as devious as ever, his dealings with the priest were distinctly evil while the way he manipulated Bryan and ultimately got his revenge was a delight. It was great to see Sarah Paulson have more to do as Merlyn; she is no longer just the nice spirit who helps her brother but also a powerful entity who is potentially a match for Lucas. This is a development that makes her far more interesting. The rest of the regular cast continue to impress and the guest stars do fine jobs. The special effects are pretty good, especially when considering how old the series is now. Overall a great episode, up there with the best of the series so far.

Honor and Exchange Rate

The lawyer W. Bryan Hudson has a meeting with Sheriff Lucas Buck and he receives a proposal of 750,000.00 to sell his family's real estate from Frenchmen. Bryan has won a cause of US$ 600,000.00 from the Sheriff's Department in the past but Lucas tells that this is past. Bryan is tempted to sell the property but his father gave his word to the blind-man Bertie that he would never evict him from his house that is in the property. However Bryan breaks his word of honor and has a surprise in the end. Meanwhile Merlyn is decided to eliminate Sheriff Buck and shelters Caleb in the church, but she has also a surprise.

"Inhumanitas" is probably the best episode of "American Gothic" so far, with Merlyn reacting against Buck and finding his evil power. Meanwhile the Sheriff lures a greedy lawyer that loses his family property and his honor. My vote is ten.
