Watch at your own risk

Warning: Spoilers
If you know the history of John K this episode will feel Much MUCH more darker and horrifying. Barely any jokes are told and ren spends more then half the episode torturing bugs, animals and enjoying every moments. Only good quality's are the animation music but besides those two things this basically is unwatchable and will give you nightmares if you aren't prepared. Its interesting because of how this was green lit to air on spike TV. John K still isnt in prison for his crimes and this episode shows how deep of a psychopath he is. Do... not... watch!

Huge Wasted Potential
defabbio-3208710 July 2023
This episode could've been seen as an opportunity to develop Ren as a character, since we do get a glimpse of his crazy cruel past, but instead, what we got is what looks to be a creepypasta coming to life. Yes it is considered as the worst thing ever by some but I honestly disagree. The animation is great and I did get some chuckles. However, this does not excuse how cruel and messed-up the entire plot of the episode is.

Knowing John K (creator of Ren & Stimpy and the director and co-writer of this episode), this isn't seen as surprising nowadays. It maybe far from the worst thing ever in my opinion, but this episode was just disgusting, cruel, terrifying and not even that funny. For a messed-up episode like this, I can't believe this is actually real.

Warning: Spoilers
Not really a bad episode.

Just needed edited down about 10 minutes.

I liked Ren's back story about his parents,

Ya, it's not pleasant, but neither was the original series.

If you cut out the the beginning with Ren being a heal, and the Frog and Mr. Horse's death,

the end result would an ok episode.

ADULTS LOVE THIS EPISODE? This episode is the worst thing i've seen in my life!
juanestebangomez200229 August 2015
Is not awful, is abysmal... it starts with so annoying crying.. then Ren reaches Mr.Horse room and he talks to him about his childhood, OH GOD I DON'T WANNA SEE HIS CHILDHOOD, Ren is so evil in this episode, hurting animals is what he likes, he almost hurted a frog, there's gross out EVERYWHERE, when they're about to get Ren out, it's pretty disturbing and non-funny.. Their parents kiss each other, which is not funny again, are they trying to tell a story? Mr.Horse reacts himself and tell him is crazy (evil not crazy) so he starts attacking Ren and Ren fight him like... a cat, with a gun.. then eats a guy's arm and blood is in the floor, the frog appears, tries to shot himself but heck.. is a SURPRISE. Richard Pursel, go fk yourself, this episode should be damn banned is not funny, not a bit funny either, is just evil, cruel, and disturbing.. so yeah, 1/10 which means i hate this as much as how's Foodfight is.. oh adults (and i thought Kids were stupid)

It's the worst thing I have ever seen in my life! >:(
BriceGum648 May 2017
Welcome to Ren Seeks Help, and welcome to Hell! First off, I am sorry in advance, when people made cartoons a long time ago, did they ever care that something that horrible can exist? Second off, I hate this cartoon so much! I never had this worse experience cringing at Adult Party Cartoon like how I got horrified and offended watching Happy Tree Friends. I am hating this cartoon so frigging much, that we see Ren as a total psychopath (according to our lovable famous Australian Top 10 user, PhantomStrider; who has hated this episode as well). This is not a comedy as it likes to claim, this is a horror cartoon.

I have reviewed it so negatively on DeviantArt, I refused to watch Adult Party again after moments of suffering and cringe. We get nothing except the concept flashbacks of Ren torturing a frog in his childhood, which is horrifying! This episode is filled with nothing except terror, shocking cruelty, domestic violence, torture, and animal abuse.

This poor frog deserved better, and really. Even when the others (including this one) were made in production, Billy West refused to do the voices for Ren and Stimpy again because he claimed that this thing (including all of Adult Party) will destroy his career for good. I am glad he never took part on this because he deserved better. However, I did like Stimpy's adult party cartoon actor playing him, but I do feel bad for Stimpy all because of what of the horrible things Ren did over the years. Also, where is the evidence of what made Stimpy get so upset with Ren? They never showed it! Unfunny lie, SpikeTV, unfunny lie!

Oh, that's not all. It was all written to be a horror like how people treat it as a creepy-pasta. This is what destroyed Ren's reputation, and his character. Not only they ruined Ren's character, they destroyed his character.

It's all bad. There is nothing good about this thing at all! I would put it on my worst cartoon list whenever I feel like it.

PhantomStrider was right, why did I not even listen to him about the episode? I liked the original 1991-1996 Ren and Stimpy cartoon well enough. It was good, it was classic, it felt like the golden age of 90's cartoons, behind SpongeBob, Rocko, and Hey Arnold. Adult Party is not to be watched, not even this Hell hole, ever! I can't help but just suffer watching it until the very end. There was no saving grace to this movie, whatsoever, except that we see the frog finally commit suicide and end it all like a Looney Tunes cartoon.

It's not the worst animation I have ever seen in my life, it's the worst cartoon I have ever seen. American Fung from American Dad and Stewie is Enceinte from Family Guy may have stunk, but Ren Seeks Help was somehow even worse! >:(

I went in knowing this episode was bad and it was still worse than I expected. It's not funny, we're expected to laugh at over the top violence, but in reality, it's just cruel. 1/10 for me.

An Overhated Masterpiece
sergeantburker6 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Sure, many people could consider this one of the worst ever cartoon episodes ever created, but when you see it from a certain point of view, it actually could be considered one of the best Ren and Stimpy episodes ever produced. How? Let me explain.

Take this episode as it's a psychological horror episode as Ren after making Stimpy upset over some unknown reason goes to a psychologist, Mr. Horse, to talk about his childhood as we see as the audience, which ends up in Mr. Horse declaring Ren insane and beating him up before Ren goes savage and well... he either kills him or knocks him out with a gun before taken to either a mental ward or the dog pound?

Anyways, while we're on the subject, this episode has been severely hated due to how gruesome the humor and writing is in this episode, but it couldn't have been as bad as the actual pieces of media this episode was inspired by. Because on it's own, it's easily the best out of the Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon lot for it's consistent, well-voiced acted and written, and the same iconic animation yet downgraded a tiny bit. I also found a lot of the humor in this episode to be comedic, like the original Ren and Stimpy show.

But if we compare this episode to any of the original Ren and Stimpy episodes, it still stands as a good episode even among the best. I'd say it's one of the best episodes overall. That's why I'm going to give this horrific but still interesting episode, the Sergeant Burker Seal of Approval.

STORY : 9/10 ANIMATION: 9/10 CHARACTERS: 10/10 MUSIC USAGE: 10/10 VOICE ACTING: 10/10

TOTAL: 10/10!

John K. is a bad person
Reckno6422 October 2019
If recent events and evidence haven't already proven how much a terrible person John Kricfalusi is, this episode will. The decision he and many others made to produce this....thing is beyond comprehension. It's rotten, repulsive, and any person with a right mindset will find it as the worst piece of animation they've ever seen (or AMONG the worst of animation)! I am very glad Billy West refused to take part in it! You go dude! :)

But screw you John K.....

An improvement on the original series.
TOMNEL1 August 2006
Stars: John K. as Ren and Mr. Horse. Eric Bauza as Ren's dad and Stimpy. Cheryl Chase as Ren's mom.

Without a doubt this is the best episode of this series. This episode starts off with Stimpy crying out loud yelling at Ren for something that we are never told. Ren promises he'll be less mean and he goes for therapy from Dr. Mr. Horse (His series debut). This episode is a series of flashbacks into Ren's childhood and how his violent birth led to his violent later life. This is a really well written episode, executed even better. There are many sight gags and background paintings too. My personal favorite part of the episode is when Mr. Horse gets mad at Ren and starts cussing him out. This is also the only episode of the series to not even mention Ren and Stimpy are a gay couple. I really love this hilarious, and extremely violent episode.

My rating: Series best! 25 mins. Contains Stong Swearing, Strong Violence and Some Gross Jokes

Oh god... not only sub-par in the animation, but... a horrid, rotten contraption of... WHATEVER this is.
stuntkyle25 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I admit it. I understand there is a fanbase for this, and that's fine. But for me, this may have been the goriest, and THE WORST cartoon I have ever come across. No contest.

I've seen reviews of this online, but haven't watched the full episode. And frankly, I don't want to.

I guess I can give you snippets of the gory full episode. Here it goes.

*SPOILER ALERT*

We start off with Stimpy crying for many minutes, not even the same voice actor as the original. We pan out to see Ren to the left staring at Stimpy with a sad look on his face. Stimpy asks Ren about why Ren said horrible things to him. Things to him which we DON'T KNOW ABOUT.

Ren tries to comfort Stimpy to no avail. Then, Ren tries to go outside to pull himself together, as Stimpy's cries of agony breaks the windows of the house they were in.

He proceeds to a tedious montage of Ren going to some therapist (who is a horse, mind you), and the imagery along the way... is beyond me.

We get bloated cow udders pointed at him, people with mean looks at him, a poor person in the background, and him walking through an alleyway. He sees the therapist in an office building called "Help". Okay...

Ren tells him about his... childhood. No, god, please no.

We get his birth with a nurse smoking, the doctor (a dog) slapping him REALLY hard, and his umbilical cord cut with blood spewing out. In Ren's later years as a child, he pulls legs off a caterpillar, licks a tick with his spiky tongue... stuffs a lit fuse from a firecracker (As Ren puts it: "Mr. Firecracker Day") onto ants' bodies.

Now the frog. Ren finds a frog for a pet, picks and prods it, and connects jumper cables from a car onto his body. Electrocution happens, and the frog screams in agony. Ren shoves fireworks in his butt, rides his bike on him (guts go flying out of him). We cut to another shot of Ren being punished by his father, as his wife barfs while seeing... the frog. The parents give Ren a chainsaw, to end the suffering of the frog, with happy music playing as the couple disgustingly makes out with each other.

This means that the frog gets killed, ending his suffering. Ren refuses, however. And then...

*SPOILERS END HERE*

OK, i'm stopping there. I can't, I can't, I just can't.

I'm not gonna touch the ending. *Sigh*... That's about as much information I can CRANK out, before I CONK out in utter horror.

I know there should be free expression in our works, but... this takes it one step too far.

Yes, I find this... "THING"... that... putrid. I can't find anything else to describe this. I DO NOT... EVER... RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS. EVER.

P.S.

I was thinking of giving this rating a 0.5 out of 10, but IMDb wouldn't let me. The 0.5 being the creators TRIED to do this. And that's IT. Nothing else.

I made the worst mistake by watching this vile excuse for a cartoon please don't watch this thing.
jamesgardiner-8694530 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This cartoon is rotten to the core I can't describe it in any other way and it doesn't just give you nightmares it has the ability to kill hope, humanity all in the hands of Richard Purcell the destroyer of spongebob. This is abysmal in every sense of the word. It is insulting ugly protest vile tedious disturbing and revolting. And the jokes are just not funny at all there so bad and stupid that I think part of my brain died just by listening to them we even get what sounded like horror music followed by stimpy bawling for 3 minutes but were am I meant to be laughing at this ugh this is so depressing and in the backgrounds it had cow utters that were looking like they cracked open and they need to get their grammar right a line here. How could say those horrible THING to me. He said THING wow. And it's just about abuse it's been the longest 25 minute cartoon I've ever watched. And this is the worst animation I've ever seen. Hands down no questions it's the worst but I've never seen a cartoon get so dark it's not a cartoon it's a horror and the only plus is the animation isn't bad but it's still pug fuglly to look at. It's not badly animated and the voice acting is OK but it is the ugliest blackest darkest emptyest cartoon I've ever watched.

This review is for phantomstrider. Ps your awesome strider thank you for reading this bye.

Abysmal (Worst Cartoon Episode of All-Time)
samuelshawel-3848521 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is the worst cartoon episode of all time. Here is why: As opposed to the original Ren & Stimpy series, this episode has a cold, alien-like vibe to it all, and feels more like a Ren & Stimpy horror creepypasta than an actual Ren & Stimpy episode or some fictional "Lost Episode" that isn't really meant to exist like "Dead Bart" or "Squidward's Suicide". A misleading title where Ren does NOT seek help. Ren is extremely unlikable here, as he mentions how he enjoyed tormenting bugs when he was little and also kills Mr. Horse after he is called crazy. Stimpy's crying is ear-piercing, although we do feel bad for him after Ren argued with him. Very ugly title card with Ren making a disturbing face. It not only destroyed Ren's character, it butchered it beyond belief without even a reason. Ugly, ugly story within a reason why this was bad from the start. Unfunny humor. Ren does not even get punished by his parents; he was going to be punished, but his mother allows Ren to use a chainsaw instead of a gun to end the poor frog. The animation in this episode may be decent, but it gets really dark, and yet is treated as a comedy, when it is all a horror show. The ending is so terrible and hugely disturbing. Why end the episode like a Looney TunesBTSW cartoon for all the stuff everybody saw through? It's so off-putting and insulting to the Looney Tunes cartoons that it just become terrifying. Ren somewhat screeches like a cat while killing Mr. Horse, even though he's a chihuahua. Five plot holes (and animation errors): Ren somehow gains demon-like horns on his head while attacking Mr. Horse, almost as if he transformed into a demon. Ren having a fourth toe and a fifth finger on his arm after he goes crazy even though Ren normally has three toes and four fingers and an animal control guy's hand being bitten off of his left arm to his right. While Ren is attacking Mr. Horse by scratching him, he appears to not have his clothes on, but when he is about to get the gun he has his clothes on. The bitten hand, which has five fingers, suddenly has four in the next scene where Ren digests it. A pool of Stimpy's tears appear in the next shot, which shows the floor like the previous scene without transition.

Those is the worst version of Ren Hoek
darkarestupido21 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Ren here is a monster, because everything that he do is to hurt someone in every way, the childhood of ren is horrible traumatizing and the end of the episode killed a character that it was very funny in the original show the horse, a episode not bad written but the script was made for the wrong character, with awful jokes and uncomfortable that are disgusting to. Ren is good character in the original show he made bad things but he always do something good he was not a monster, very bad episode.

Give it some love
tommypezmaster1 July 2019
Okay, so it may not be as great as the original Ren and Stimpy, but it's still better than that Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs TV show. To me, it is rather odd that Teletoon (creators of Yakkity Yak and Johnny Test) did John K.'s other show Ripping Friends, but it's still the best thing he have worked on. Yakkity Yak and Johnny Test just suck to me. I found Adult Party Cartoon to be a very timeless and hilarious classic. I grew up with Adult Party Cartoon! as a kid watching Spike TV, and I loved it to death. One of my all time favorites of the 2000's next to Invader Zim, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Corneil and Bernie, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Hamtaro, Cardcaptors, MegaMan: NT Warrior, Metabots, Mr. Bean: The Animated Series, El Chavo Animado, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and George of The Jungle 2007, as well as Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, Shaman King, and the two shows that should've been released in the states: Mermaid Melody and Bomberman Jetters. It had heartfelt moments, timeless humor, and great animation. Yes, it feels like they take too long to make a joke, but at least they're is a point. Overall, I love this show.

Would've been more acceptable as a Creepypasta/Fanfiction
llamadog-109096 September 2022
Learning that the episodes were made from unused story concepts makes so much sense. This episode doesn't feel like something that would ever be official. If it were a fanfic or creepypasta, I probably wouldn't have thought about it as much, but it's very much official. Same writers and everything.

I felt myself getting depressed after watching the episode. I'm surprised I even watched the full episode. I don't even know what made me watch the episode in the first place. I thought of nothing else but death after watching it.

I just stared at my screen in silence for a few moments. Sadness was all I could feel. I didn't watch much of the third episode, stopping after 2 minutes before doing something else.

This is just sad
minutolo8 March 2023
For starters I just wanna say, go to hell John K.

Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about this... thing.

"Ren Seeks Help" is an episode of a reboot of a kids' show. John K, being the weirdo he is, decided to reboot Ren & Stimpy with an adult twist. This episode, in particular, is notoriously one of (if not, THE) worst episodes of said reboot.

It's all about Ren, well... seeking help. He goes to a therapist, the therapist being Mr. Horse, from the original series. What then happens is a series of cruel flashbacks that are just sad to see such as Ren plucking the legs off of bugs. I'm not kidding. This really happens. Please don't watch this show.

This episode has a great thing on Rens backstory. Ren left the frog alive. I hated when Mr. Horse beat Ren up for no reason. Ren attacking the horse was satisfying to me. Ren had Mr. Horse calling him crazy coming. But Ren came for help.
