The Hogans are in the market for a temporary maid, and when David accidently gets an inept waitress named Melanie fired he convinces Sandy to give Melanie the job.
This is another strong episode with some great bits stemming from the fact Melanie is a beauty school student. She gives Mark a home permanent. "I look like Richard Simmons!" he shrieks. Jeremy Licht gets the most laughs in this one.
There is a twist involving the firing of Melanie, and Mrs. Poole's entrance at the end -- looking like a demented turkey, thanks to Melanie's handiwork -- is one of the most memorable sight gags of the series.
