This episode 5 from season 3 of "FX's" "American Crime Story" series "Impeachment" called "Do You Hear What I Hear?" is another interesting and entertaining episode of the series. This episode goes deeper into the Clinton scandal as you still see the power struggle and stubborn feel between a president and intern, as Monica is going away out of town to New York set up with a new job to keep quite about her life with Bill. Still Paula lurks around as Bill is getting ready to testify in the civil case, and Linda Tripp is served papers by the "FBI". The Feds zoom in and in this episode viewers are introduced to special counsel Ken Starr. So the legal game is set up with more revealing info from all parties as it's still all a little game of truths and lies. Overall another fine well done episode of an interesting and in depth drama series.

I actually knew Linda Tripp. Sarah Paulson has captured her perfectly. I didn't meet Linda until probably about 2007, and when people brought up the whole "affair" with her, she still got all smug. Anyway, she and her husband, Dieter, opened the best Christmas shop ever, The Christmas Sleigh, in Middleburg, VA. Dieter is a lovely man, and the store has the best German and Austrian Christmas and Easter decorations. It's the highest quality stuff and the prices are really good. I know, because I've lived in Germany, and I'm a collector. I've spent a small fortune at The Christmas Sleigh. I've really been enjoying the show overall, but it's pretty impressive that they got the details of her Christmas decorations right, and Sarah Paulson's acting is so perfect.

OH. MY. GAHHHHHHHH!!!!! This is soooo excellent. The acting alone is worth the price of admission. Sarah Paulson is unrecognizable as Linda Tripp; same as Rae Dawn Chong as Clinton\s personal secretary; Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky is fantastic; Clive Owen as Clinton is masterful; Judith Light: incredible; as for Edie Falco as Hillary, she hasn't had her time to shine yet, but I just have a feeling - then there's the production, production, PRODUCTION! I could go on and on. I smell a slew of Emmy nods for ALL of it. It's FANTASTIC!

This is by far the best episode yet, as Bill Clinton calls Monica at 2:33 AM about filing an affidavit in the Paula Jones case, and "I'd say nothing ever happened between us," she assures him.
For most of the rest of the show, poor Monica sweats bullets over how Linda -- who knows everything about the affair, and has a subpoena of her own -- will respond.
"I can't commit perjury," she says.
"If they ask you something, you say, 'I don't know.' Promise me, please!" Monica pleads. "I promised him that I wouldn't tell anybody!"
Meanwhile, Linda learns that in Maryland, it's a felony to tape one's phone-conversation partner without informing her, and she's in possession of a stack of cassettes. Linda sure keeps busy this episode. Literary agent Lucianne Goldberg has told her "that stain is white gold. It proves what she says on your tapes really happened," so Linda convinces Monica not to clean the infamous blue garment from the Gap -- "You look heavy in that dress." And Linda wears a wire to an awkward tete-a-tete with her nervous young diet buddy.
Meanwhile, Monica has assured Clinton that no one knows about them. And when he inquires whether that includes her friend at the Pentagon, she responds, "She's not really my friend." Er, uh-oh!
Monica has a job lined up with Revlon in the Big Apple, and her farewell to Clinton in the Oval Office is a killer.
"You are my whole world," she tells him.
"Good luck in New York," he replies. That must have hurt!
At a certain point in this segment, Linda confides, "All I wanted was for Monica to be OK. But I had to protect myself." And there, for all involved, lies the rub.

This episode introduces partisan hack Ken Starr who was appointed as Special Counsel over Whitewater and then helped himself over the Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky scandal.
The same Ken Starr who later contradicted his own arguments when he defended President Trump when he was impeached.
As Lewinsky is an Executive Producer, this is another episode where I reckon is self serving, Making her out to be an innocent victim or dupe.
Nasty Linda Tripp once again tries to trip up Lewinsky. This time she is wired up by the FBI.
I began to appreciate Clive Owen's vocal performance a lot in this one.

Starting poorly, who would have thought this season would stoop so low ?
Just kidding, it was a mess from the first scene, and hopeless ...
But what's become more obvious is just how much of an insult the presence of Sarah Paulson is , and how her wooden acting is making it even more painful to see Clive Owens being trapped in the worst role of his career .
That woman is at the center of an already insufferable cast, and a more mediocre choice could not have been made .
Just kidding, it was a mess from the first scene, and hopeless ...
