I am a HUGE fan of Dave Gorman, and although I have never seen him live(as much as I want to), I absolutely love Modern Life is Goodish. I was immediately sort of confused by the existence of this show, and I was sadly right to be so.
To put it simply, Dave Gorman is a panel show host. He seems incredibly nervous in the show, and doesn't let his guests talk as much as he should and all of the "challenge" tasks are incredibly awkward to watch. He seems to have written jokes beforehand and is looking for ways to shove them in, treating it like another episode of modern life is goodish.
At the end of the day, why should I watch this when I could be watching any number of hilarious British panel shows currently airing? It's pretty funny, sure, but I just fail to quite see the point.
