Warning: Spoilers
What a season finale. Last episode was one of the most unexpectedly emotional episodes of the entire show. The start of this episode deals with the aftermath, before we witness the battle for the new title of God, and it was truly heavenly! (pun intended).

We got demons vs. Angels, Lucifer vs. Michael in what was a beautiful angelic fight in the sky, and we finally got to see heaven! It was so great that Chloe finally got to reunite with her dad.

Lucifer and Chloe were great as ever, their scenes in this episode were emotional and shocking. I also enjoyed the pairing once again of Maze and Eve, in this episode and last episode.

Finally, Lucifer defeats Michael and takes the title. And who would've thought, at the start of the series, that Lucifer would end up being the new God? To the people who say there's no character progression, I can't see how you can get any more progression than that. Just awesome, this show has become great and this was definitely my favourite season (with season 4).

That was a pretty amazing conclusion to a season of a show that was cancelled and picked up. Thrilling stuff. Now waiting for Season 6.

This is what a season finale should look like; great plot, gripping action, superb emotional scenes and exceptional acting. Special props goes out to the very gorgeous Lauren German for her phenomenal range and mastery of the emotional scenes.

Holy Lucifer!

It's hard to talk about the episode without spoiling but I will do.

An amazing finale to a great season.

Season 5 wasn't perfect but it was definitely GREAT it had some weaknesses but the amazingly good easily outweighs the weaknesses.

The payoff is finally here and it's fantastic.

Lucifer finally gets HUGE character development as he should.

I really don't know what to expect next but I have high expectations after this season and the fourth season.

Please writers wrap things perfectly this show deserves it and everyone who worked on it deserves it especially Tom for his incredible performance he is literally the protagonist and the antagonist in this season HES THAT GOOD and every other actor for their beautiful performances.

This season had fantastic acting from everyone so kindly give us the ending we all deserve.

They did it again

Warning: Spoilers
Even with a longer season this time they still managed to make it great. And somehow with an even more SHOCKING finale. They showed seen things we've wanted to see throughout the whole series, and I now cannot wait to see how they'll finish it off with season 6. Good stuff SPOILERS AHEAD: I just want to add that the duel in the sky was just beautiful. Exactly how I would've imagined something like this in this show, better even. Well done.

Just another masterpiece of a finale ...
Aktham_Tashtush2 June 2021
What an episode !! Felt just like a 21st century mythical Greek epic ... The story still leads us to an unavoidable war and the screenplay was just giving us a little hope somewhere to hang on to .. up until the end.

I have to mention again, that I still can't get over how "Dan" story went , in which I hope they do something about next season (Some news say he'll be there for the final season in some capacity) ... but the whole cast were just amazing still engaging after .. well .. 5 years now.

Anyway, as a whole season it was just unbelievably amazing,, Netflix still know where to spend their money, and as it stands the money spent on production and cinematography was totally worth it.

The sixth and final season has already wrapped filming just before season 5, Part 2 premiered, So here we go to a final season, we're waiting for the release dates to have a one last ride on this highway to hell, or heaven :D who knows ! :D.

Rushed and low budget
OmniCognateSnr7 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Not quite sure why this last episode has such a high score. I love the series generally but this last episode could have been so much more. I whole bunch of "joke" angels v 6 crims who died in a totally unrelated bus crash. Surely Lucifer and Maize would have had most of hell at their disposal but what we got was a high school rumble on a playing field. It came across as lazy hack writing ( so clearly nothing to do with Neil Gaiman ) and an end of term project with no funding. Shame.

Thank the lord it's not the series finale...
EddyTheMartian0071 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Because it would've been terrible if it was. Honestly this entire season has been the weakest yet. It just felt so disjointed, messy and a lot of storylines felt kind of pointless. We have a big character moment or event, and then the next episode they're missing, or it's not even mentioned. With the episodes being even longer a lot of them dragged, when hour long episodes could've been 40 minutes like before. It's still held back by the procedural cop show element, and the celestial elements are too spread out. The show was at its best in Season 4 when the story was focused with just 10 episodes. I've really enjoyed this show, and it has great moments, but this season was just a mess. The tone is all over the place with multiple jokes being badly placed in intense moments. The final fight which should've been epic to see all these angels fighting was so lame. They got God yet they did almost nothing interesting with the character. There were so many interesting things that could've been done, but it's only some great moments in mediocre episodes. This is particularly evident in the first episode of the second part of season 5, which had an average plot, with weak directing, until the dinner scene, which carried the entire episode. Also the directing this season has been off. It feels very rough in a lot of episodes. I don't even like musicals but I actually liked that episode simply because the directing was the best in a while. I also loved the cliff hanger that God was struggling to control his powers but the pay off to that was so disappointing. So we got one episode of that which was the musical, and then he removes his powers for another episode, and then he decides to retire and leave. That was it? It was so exciting to finally see God, who should be such an important part of the show and they barely did anything with him. Most of the episodes this season have been below average. I think the best was the mid season finale, it was pretty epic to see Michael against Lucifer, though I thought Maze's betrayal was so forced and redundant. The first part was very weak so it gave me hope for the second part with such a cool cliff hanger but it was honestly such a disappointment. My favorite episode would have to be Dan's episode. At first I thought it was contrived but the final twist basically explained it, and I loved how it connected with his arc. He's my favorite character so it was pretty sad to see him die and it's pretty shocking he goes to hell. Though it seems like he can actually go to heaven as it was teased by the guy who appears in the beginning of the season in hell and goes to heaven at the end (forgot his name). This season also feels very messy in terms of explanations and powers. Everything with God was a mess. So God can't go to another universe, but one of his angels can? Despite him being all knowing he doesnt know Michael was gaslighting him? They seriously fake killed Chloe and Lucifer... it's still not even explained how he survived. The angels were way too silly, they felt like a joke. Also these episodes made it evident that some of these actors really can't carry scenes with heavier emotions. Or maybe they didn't have good direction? I don't even know, but this season felt like it had the worst aspects of the previous Lucifer seasons. Honestly I don't even care about the main romance anymore. Overall I don't have much to say this is a messy review because I was just left so disappointed I couldn't care to write something proper, it's not a bad season, I'd still consider it decent I think, but there was so much potential wasted. It was just such a mess, and while I still enjoyed it, it's not something I feel like I'd enjoy on rewatch like the other seasons. Lucifer isn't anything that complex or deep, but it's been extremely enjoyable and certainly has its moments. It's definitely a show I will rewatch one day (probably before season 6) because of how enjoyable it is (and I tend not to rewatch shows much), but this season is one of the seasons I honestly think I'll dislike even more on rewatch. Oh well, at least there's the final season, which will hopefully deliver.

Glorious!
Sjark29 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Frankly at this stage of cinematic history, I expected the cancerous critical race theory to smother this show, as it has many others.. especially the cop shows.

But I was wrong.. the show has managed to maneuver these traitorous waters largely unscathed and come up as an example to any future productions that there is still hope for the arts. Just.. don't suck, it can be done!

5B has been a delight to watch, and the finale the cherry on top. We all knew where it was headed, but the journey to the final scene was such a ride.

We cried, we laughed, we suffered and rejoiced alongside the characters that have come so far; from the literal bowels of hell to the celestial throne.

Amenadiel is a father, once distant from humanity through his powers over time.. unable to leave everything he self actualized to shelter from, meaningfully choosing the mortal realm over divinity Maziqueen (too good), once a sadistic torturer find love and accidentally a soul, only through enduring heart wrenching pain of her own.

After all you can't have joy, without the fear of loss, and frankly her journey has been what's touched me the most of this entire show. True redemption.

Ella, still have some bones to grow on, her darkness unexplored, but she is excellent supporting cast. I kept hoping she'd be brought in on the cosmic scale, but I suppose it makes sense that her relationship to religion remains faith based.. as she puts it, that's entirely the point, and she wouldn't change a thing.

Dan.. he was great.. and the loss of the character leaves a great hole you didn't even realize would be there.. until it was, and it was devastating in that waiting room, as everyone had different ways of reacting.. so very much in character, especially when Trixie comes in asking where her father is.. So relatable to anyone who's lived a little. Terrible, for all the right reasons, and excellent across the board. That girl is going places.. it's a shame she was only in a few scenes.

Chloe, love interest for the devil, struggling with her own demons of abandonment and mattering, ultimately the most important human in the universe, whether mother, daughter friend or lover. She really spread her wings this season, showing emotional depth that was frankly lacking previous seasons. She has been nothing short of phenomenal.

Lucifer. The fallen one.. what can I say? Tom Ellis was born for this role, I mean.. he sings, he dances, he grieves, he makes you snort milk out your nose.. what can't he do?

He just leaves us craving MORE!!

Lucy's gone from the snubbed playboy man whore with daddy issues, to the rebel we all want to be, who bends the rules, not just because he wants to.. he revels in it, but because, for the right reason.. love, it is the right thing to do.. and occasionally it can save us from despots and hellscapes.. And the farewell scene with god was touching, with god finally being free to admit he loves his son.. a bit overdue, but all the more satisfying, something lucifer had been craving since before the rebellion against heaven. Perfect execution!

Linda, the reasonable adult in the room. Finally got her moment with her wayward daughter, which was lovely, she is however the glue that keeps everyone else interesting. Without her the processing of complicated family and existential matters would go unnoticed, and in a way she narrates the entire story, despite the characters best efforts to derail everything, and it never fails to entertain.

Charlie, needs more lines, and keeps falling over.

Really can't wait for season 6.. thankfully production is complete, so hopefully it won't be too long..

Warning: Spoilers
I started watching Lucifer when it first came out, it has been one hell of a ride(pun intended). This to me was the perfect ending to an outstanding season. Chloe's death just to have Lucifer fly up to heaven and get her back. Perfect.

All i have to say is And so it begins.

What I expected, and it came out more
gk3030071 June 2021
I was impatient in the previous episode to know what next, when God suggested to Lucifer and Amanediel "you will come to know", when they inquired about the next Successor. It should have been worthy and upto the level.

Well, frankly, this episode did justice to God's prophecy; it came out as any viewer would have expected: adrenaline filled and classy.

I won't describe what and how of this episode, go and watch yourself. Let the mystery remain hidden. However, i am dipping one rating only because i have much more expectations now with this series and want even more from the Creators.

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this episode. In my opinion the 15th and this 16th episode were an amazing final for this season with his ups and downs, but there were nowhere big downs, just big ups. This is character development. Also the little details with the angel of death, reuniting with the father of Chloe. JUST AMAZING.

Talk about raising the bar HIGH and keeping your audience RIVETED! This episode knocked it out of the park but I fear anything after this won't be able to meet the expectations this OUTSTANDING episode established. Kudos to the writers, actors and all those involved in putting it together. Lastly, while this episode and the entire series has been extremely entertaining, here's hoping the writers put the universe right again (if you know what I mean) in the 6th and final season.

I have to straighten something out
DunkelheitVZ23 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After watching the S5 finale, I was severely disappointed. And I was really surprised about all the fantastic 10/10 reviews here.

This is not 10/10 TV in my humble opinion, it is not even 5/10.

The finale is neither clever, nor cool. The Angels are a bunch of idiots, the action is not worth mentioning (better do not use any action at all than this), the flaming sword looks more like a dagger and it is even less impressive than this finale, the scripting is convenient (why shoot 2 angels, but not Michael?).

I need to be really honest here. It looks like they did not have any script at all and were improvising the whole finale. It goes back and forth, sometimes I don't know if I should laugh (the new demons from the prison transport, was that supposed to be cool or make us laugh?) or cry.

I had so many ideas with the celestials, with god, with Lucifer, so many directions where they could have gone, but they thought it would be great to make god an old man without authority or direction, the angels are idiots (sup bro) and they kill the ONE angel who along with Amenadiel, felt like more than from a cartoon (and I am talking about Tom & Jerry, not Ghost in the Shell).

This was horrible, honestly. Thank god there will be a seaon 6 and this won't be the end. Which might sound like a possible relief, is also super scary. For now I have dropped my overall rate for Lucifer 2 stars, because the 5th season is so thoughtless.
