Stimulating throwback Adult entertainment

Bree Mills has created a wide variety of new series to fill the never-satisfied pipeline of her new umbrella distributor Adult Time, and "Girlcore" is one of her better concepts.

Name derives (likely) from earlier porno chic experiments like Artcore and Glamcore, applied to girl/girl content of a stylish nature. She's even opted (to good effect) by collaborating with a mainstream artist Anthony Scott Burns (here billed as "Pilotpriest") for the musical scores.

This pair of scenes from the series leads off with a moody, very well-done noir titled "A Delicate Vice". It is basically a two-hander, with Cherie DeVille, in an unsmiling (for a change) character role as a prostitute, protected by her beautiful and butch chain-smoking driver played by Kenna James.

The Driver is a standard noir trope, most recently incarnated by Ryan Gosling in the cult movie "Drive" (which I didn't care for at all) and notably in "The Driver"starring Ryan O'Neal (under Walter Hill's direction) over three decades earlier.

Making that role for a woman was a stroke of genius by Bree, and the complicated relationship of the two women makes for a sexy and thought-provoking 50-minute featurette. In male roles (NonSex) as Cherie's tricks are various members of Bree's filmmaking crew.

Supporting program is titled "The Go Girls", a more overtly nostalgic exercise, as "Girlcore" is dedicated to 1980s backdrops and story material. It consists of a Jane Fonda-esque exercise class led by Abigail Mac, with Mac and bad girls Carter Cruise and MILFy Ryan Keely (her casting literally sticks out, whether viewed forward or backward) all competing to pop the Sapphic cherry of new class member, young married girl and oh-so-shy & innocent-looking Scarlett Sage.

With nearly all of the cast of eight femmes clad in pastel leotards and leg-warmers, the scene soon devolves into forced sex of a foursome, Sage being the object. The other four girls sit around and watch, providing eye-candy without joining in on the XXX action, a time-honored tradition notably pioneered nearly a decade earlier by the late (not so great) Brit Porn label Bluebird Films -where female cast lists numbering a dozen or two were not uncommon.
