Let's Justice Be Done !
tristan_1919 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
We made it folks ! The end of an era.

A total snowstorm of emotions with Kim and Jimmy. All these theories, and we get a clean break. After being teased in Wexler v. Goodman, Kim walks away and reveals to Jimmy she knew about Lalo.

This episode felt like closure for many of the characters. Gus reached the exact spot he was in BB, as he gets control of the North, under Bolsa's supervision, while Hector gets the south. Mike talks to Nacho's father. HHM is rebranding and changing its name.

It's the end of an era. The whole show lead to this moment. The transition right after the break up was sensational. It's like the episode became bigger than itself and skipped forward. It was a shock to be sure. An absolute shake up like last episode, but in a different way.

It's the story of Wine and Roses, where a couple gets into vices and influence comes in. The spiral happens and problems come into play. Maybe that was the point of Gus' scene with the wine ? I don't know. Maybe the only scene I didn't quite understand here.

Overall, the episode is sad, sweet, full of future nostalgia. Saul is here. It's showtime. Rhea Seehorn is exceptional. That whole speech, and I still feel it. Wow.

You could say it feels a little rushed, but at the same time, it happens like that in a whirlwind. You don't have time to process.

"I didn't tell you because I was having too much fun..."
robotintroverted19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Each episode they keep stepping it up, this episode was perfect, from beginning to end I loved it. I have no complaints; everything has been tied up and we are now in the Breaking Bad timeline.

I guess I should talk about the elephant in the room first, that being the break up scene. I haven't felt this miserable, This depressed, this emotionally exhausted in a long time from viewing a piece of media. This is quite literally the Ozymandias of Better Call Saul. Kimmy and Jimmy breaking up are very reminiscent of the movie Days of Wine and Roses. I mean, it's pretty obvious, since it's literally the title of episode 1 of season 6. And the way this plays out is even more tragic than the movie itself. Like Kim says "when I'm with you, it's fun. But we are horrible for everyone around us." I feel like we as well as Kim have been justifying Jimmy's actions. When we start Better Call Saul, it's kind of the goofy fun you'd expect from a Breaking Bad spinoff show about Saul Goodman. But each season it slowly moves towards being more serious and more dramatic. Kim is right; they are bad for each other, in fact, I would say that they bring out sides to each other that you wouldn't think would be unlocked. The break up scene was handled so well, and hit so close to home for me. I've been in toxic relationships before, and leaving a toxic relationship is exactly like this. Word for word, it's kind of scary how realistic they made it. The fun is over now, all that's left now is Saul and the mask that he uses. I can't believe how well crafted this show is; it's honestly incredible how Vince can outdo himself again, and make a better show.

I loved the scenes with Gus, despite knowing that gus will be fine, I was still worried for him during that scene. But it honestly just shows how genius Gus is, and how excellent of a planner he is. I also enjoyed the wine-tasting scene, it shows how he still hasn't exactly recovered with the encounter from Lalo.

The funeral and Varga scenes were perfect. Each making me cry and wanting to just sit there depressed.

Then we move onto the Breaking Bad timeline, where we see Saul for who he really is: a broken man who tries to get by in life by putting on a mask with an eccentric personality.

Better Call Saul is not some goofy lawyer show about how Saul Goodman became even more eccentric. It's about a broken man who made bad decisions and is suffering for it day after day and never seeing that suffering end.

"and then i go and spoil it all by saying somethin' stupid like i love you..."
jeremyfrydman19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The fact that Jimmy and Kim finally, FINALLY, were able to say "I love you" to each other and that was the thing that broke them apart... my god this show is so good, SO GOOD, it's too good.

This episode broke me. It's the show at its best. This is maybe my favourite episode in the entirety of the show. These writers... they're too good.

This show goes beyond being a great TV show, it's a work of art. It's perfect.

Bravo to the entire BCS team. Give Rhea and Bob their Emmy's, like now.

Let Justice Be Done Though the Heavens Fall
MamadNobari9719 July 2022
Back-to-back-to-back masterpieces from Better Call Saul and I'm sure we're gonna get another 4 masterpieces in the next month.

Once again, we're blessed with another amazing intro montage with the best transitions and editing.

This episode pretty much resolves everything for every character and everyone gets lots of screen time including Kim, Saul, and Gus Fring. Gus Fring is still a beast and he wins every argument without even talking, gigachad energy right there.

This episode had everything, great emotional scenes with yet another great performance from Rhea Seehorn, great conclusions to pretty much every plot thread of the show, and they may have also hinted at something about Gus Fring that some people were speculating.

As other reviews said, this feels like an end of an era and the beginning of a new.

Can't really say much about it more and not spoil it, just that it's one of the best episodes of Breaking Bad Universe. An episode doesn't have to always have a sudden death or a shocking ending in order to be considered a 10/10 episode.

Almost a Finale
CulvertonSmith19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode does such an incredible job of wrapping up so much of the show and in such a real and devastating way. The scene between Mike and Nacho's dad was fantastic, and a truly powerful moment that shows the complexity of Mike as a character. The breakup scene between Jimmy and Kim is phenomenally performed by both actors and truly feels like the natural end result of all the choices they've made. Better Call Saul sells these moments because everything feels like such a natural progression of what has come before, nothing feels out of place or phony. The final moments where we see just how far Jimmy has fallen in his life as Saul Goodman is a truly excellent end to the episode, and almost feels like the end of the show...

Almost. There's more to be said and the story of Jimmy/Saul/Gene is not yet finished, and I cannot wait to see where it goes in these last four episodes. I absolutely love this show and have full confidence in the creators and writers to nail the ending. Monday cannot come soon enough.

A gut punch

We get some finality, and it hurts... I put my arms back in shock, and there were no action scenes in this ep. But I was taken aback. Amazing. Every moment had me talking out loud to the tv.

Masterclass
jdank3719 July 2022
Don't want to give anything away or review the episode in anyway but the last three episodes are just master class television. This will go down as one of the best shows of all time and while I believe the last two were slightly better, this episode is still a perfect 10 and one of the reasons for that.

9.5 when the past two episodes have a 9.8 or above?
TheFirst0120 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Listen, I know what you're thinking. The past two episodes had more action so automatically it has to have a better rating. I'm here to tell you right now that don't let the lower rating of this episode influence your opinion of how a big of a masterclass it is. It served a lot as an eulogy to a lot of the characters and the episode had a perfect pacing that since I watched the episode, it has been engraved in my brain. Not just the demise or downfall of some characters, but how this particular episode is told with no action yet still bringing one of the most flawless near hour of tv I've ever seen. A masterclass that feels like a finale, but isn't and the fact that isn't proves to you that this show is probably the best show on earth right now. The fact that there is still 4 episodes left makes this episode more of a masterpiece in my opinion with lots of story still left to be told. To conlude, the perfect ending. A final scene that everyone knew was going to happen and as we witnessed, cemented this episode as a true masterclass. I cannot wait to see how this show ends.

The Death of James McGill
coasteraddict-1679619 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I predict that with the way people are, this episode may garner a lower rating than the previous two. Those seeking an hour of pure heart-pounding action may be disappointed. However, in terms of the characters themselves, this is easily one of the show's most devastating episodes.

The first half mostly shows us what Gus and Mike are up to. In Gus' scenes, we get a unique glimpse into who he really is, and the fact that he can't seem to form real relationships with anyone. Mike's guilt surfaces again and he has a conversation with Manuel Varga that ends exactly how we all expected, once again whittling down Mike's moral system. Great performances here!

On the other end of the episode, the Jimmy/Kim story reaches its resolution (for now, at least). Despite a lack of real, physical danger, the scenes the two shared carried an overwhelming sense of tension. Kim can only keep up the lie for so long, and Jimmy's compartmentalization of his regret finally gets her to snap.

Jimmy and Kim's final argument is easily one of the show's most heartbreaking scenes. Each word spoken made me wince. Kim is finally forced to face her actions and her true motivations come to light. Bob Odenkirk's acting is absolutely phenomenal here. No matter how genuine he is, Kim can no longer live with what she's done. This feels sort of reminiscent to Jimmy's last words with Chuck. However, the loss of Kim is the final nail in the coffin for James McGill.

The episode ends with a jarring, heart wrenching cut to the BB timeline, proving that Jimmy, as we know him, is finally gone. And taking over is none other than the identity he's been building for years: Saul Goodman.

Saul Crushing
ronniewhitedx19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The transition from Jimmy to Saul is fully realized now. It's probably one of the most heartbreaking transitions. Everyone that tried to help Jimmy be a better person is either dead or gone and all that is left is Saul Goodman. His name being a funny goof in Breaking Bad now has a more depressing twist. Saul Goodman is just Jimmy's way of coping with the aweful that he did. Tragic but so so so well executed.

The End of an Era
rxckne19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
From an article I read, this was apparently the episode where Bob had his heart attack, and I'm assuming it was the last scene with Kim when it occurred. The performance him and Rhea put on was stellar. The cinematography amazing as usual. The camera following Kim and the final shot of Jimmy McGill were so powerful. There were also scenes that were Breaking Bad esc to me. Kim kissing Jimmy and driving away, then Walt and Jessie having their final nod to one another, then Jessie driving away. Although they are very different moments, that's what I thought of immediately. Then there's Jimmy's last plea to Kim that somewhat reminded me of Walt returning home in Ozymandias. Walt pleading for Skylar to leave with him and Jimmy pleading with Kim to stay with him are both very close together even though both were very different in their perspective moments. Kim's last line to Jimmy was hard to listen to. We knew how much she was going through with Howard, but whenever the line, "I was having too much fun" came out, it was heartbreaking. This episode was the death of Jimmy McGill for me. I thought it was the end of season 4, but Kim was the final piece to the puzzle for Saul Goodman's full transformation, and we finally got it. Now, all we have left is Saul, and soon to be Gene Tacovic.

Final Episode Rating - 9.6.

End of JM
emilioapv19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Everyone had in mind the possible death of Kim, at the end the one who died was actually Jimmy, leaving only the Saul Goodman that we know. Vince is a total genius for what he has done. I've never seen such a good camera work and the performance of Rhea and Bob is just out of league, they just reassure that they're the Emmy's winners.

disappointing but... fine
GegsiShmeksi19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The episode is fiiiine, the season is fiiiiine, the tv series is fiiiine, everything is fine nowadays, sure, yeah, okay.

BUT - 6 seasons of watching how jimmy slowly becomes saul and... A FAST FU**ING FORWARD IN A MIDDLE OF A BREAK UP?! Damn, are we in a hurry? Because if we are there were soooooo many moments that could be cut instead of how jimmy BECOMES saul.

Meh, cameos and fan service incoming.

IS THAT IT?
hazzadhgw19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A lot of this episode is simply just exposition. The scenes are entertaining but nothing really moves the story forward until towards the end where we finally find out what happens to Kim. Honestly 6 seasons of fans wondering what happens to Kim and all that happens is she divorces Jimmy? Is that it? Then they skip forward a few years to Jimmy being Saul. You can't just skip forward a few years like that. That is lazy writing. Could not think what to put in those next few years so just skip forward a few years. Surely we will see Kim again. That can't be all that happens.

We don't know it yet, but we are witnessing history
lovemichaeljordan19 July 2022
We have never been closer to Breaking Bad. The last three episode have been perfect and it looks like Better Call Saul is going to have the greatest ending ever at this rate. Everything is coming together and everything we have been wondering for years is starting to make sense. There is not only explanation for what happens in Breaking Bad but this episode also features a deeper look at sides we have not yet seen in our favorite characters.

Rhea Seehorn and Bob Odenkirk both deliver emmy-worthy performances. How has this show not won one single emmy yet? This episode is powerful, emotional and so much stuff is happening! The character development is so clever and everything ties together so well. How can any human make something so profound? The writers deserve every award there is. It's mindblowing how good the writing is. It doesn't get better than this!

One can only speculate for the next episodes. We can be certain that whatever's coming, it's going to be emotional, suspenseful and iconic. We are witnessing a season and show which will go down in history as one of the best in history.

Could've Been The Finale
ssy32924 July 2022
If this has been the finale of the entire series, it would've ranked as one of the best in history.

I won't spoil anything except to say that I feel completely devastated yet also completely satisfied with the way storylines were tied up. Luckily we still have 4 more episodes to go and I have no idea where this is headed. The best news is there isn't a show I trust more to do something great with the time we have left.

And this episode was rare and special. Even the finest programs spin their wheels far too frequently, but this was all moving forward. Back to the future, as it were.

Real human feelings permeated every scene.

Justice For All
abigoldberger19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
At first I was underwhelmed by this episode. I wasn't sure where it was going. But again that's the way this show is; masterfully written.

We got all the last pieces put down to end this era. Gus and the cartel are back on good terms, the lab can be built, Mike visiting Nacho's dad, which was devastating, and the most devastating of all, Kim leaving Jimmy.

That jump was so satisfying, but so depressing at the same time. I just felt this kinda sadness and sympathy toward Saul.

Now, we finally see how it all ends...

It only took 7 years
beckcolby19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
But Saul Goodman is finally here. My god what an episode. These deserve every award imaginable. It was hard to see how season 1 Jimmy mcgill could turn into this cold money grubbing lawyer. And from chucks death, Howard's death, and Kim leaving him we finally understand the shattered man that is Saul Goodman. And you truly feel for Jimmy. He only wanted love and respect from the people closest to him, Kim and Chuck, and he never really got it. Maybe with Kim a short period but it ended in awful fashion. Kim saying I love you but so what. Brutal. And now Jimmy puts up the Saul facade to get him through. And it makes total sense. Hats off to Peter Gould, Vince Gilligan, and the many other writers who gave us this masterpiece.

Simply put
khalidaloum9619 July 2022
No bullets No deaths No surprizes Just the moments that every true lover of Vince Gilligan's great shows was waiting for.

The bridging events, that bald scalp on Saul's head, those final honest words out of Kim's mouth.

The simplest conversations between all the characters of the show and yet touching and moving the heart of someone who loves this show and has felt many ups and downs of his own life and relates to feelings of farwell and good bye.

The transformation is complete!
harryp_hermione19 July 2022
The whole point of BCS was the transformation of Jimmy McGill to Saul goodman. Jimmy was a morally flexible guy with a crooked sense of justice but was always somewhat good at heart. He put brakes and stopped midway during his elaborate plans multiple times because of his goodness of heart. It was always the question of what event will finally lead him to cut the brake wires forever. As we always knew his brakes were a person. And now it's gone. Transformation is complete. This was one of the most melancholic episodes of BCS and it was very well done!

Still Very good, disappointed though.
declantill19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The acting in this is astoundingly good from all involved, let's get that out of the way!

I think it was always going to be tough to follow up the two supremely crafted episodes prior and that still manage a very good episode.

There is one thing that has disappointed me and that's the sudden parting of Kim and Jimmy. I've RAVED about how well written theyve been, I hate how couples are normally written, soon as something goes wrong they part and time and again we've seen that not happen with these two.

Now the Howard situation happens and they part. I get it, but it's what everyone would do. Surely Kim should stick with Jimmy, keep the doubt, the argument they had etc but she decides against her gut to stay and it somehow ends up in her death or something like that.

That would be far more tragic than the overplayed chemistry Vs compatibility trope. Now we see Saul.

There is no more Jimmy McGill, and probably no more Kim Wexler. I just wished they'd have played with the dynamic more, because depending on how this show finishes, it could surpass breaking bad for me.

Before this episode I did think it was going too, now I'm 50/50.

Cinematography is stellar also, just love how these episodes look, feel and sound.

7.5.

Now everything goes very quickly. Peace treaty with Don Eladio, Kim disappears within minutes, and Saul makes out in his swanky mansion with hookers. He ends up sitting fat behind his desk waiting for clients. I bet his next client is Walter White. 2 Stars because af Mike.
