Brave attempt👍
alhadparab27 January 2022
It's a nice Horror comedy movie. 1st half of the movie is really amazing. 2nd half could have been a little more funnier. VFX of the movie is really nice. Amey Wagh has done a brilliant job in the movie...the kind of facial expressions he gave in the movie were superb. Overall it was a great attempt by the makers and also its a step towards an evolution of Marathi film industry 😊

Great film in the horror comedy!! Go watch it !!
sanjubhat9 February 2022
Movie review: Zombivali ( Marathi film - in theatres) #sanjuzzreviews #zombivali #zombivalifilm

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Zombivali is a horror comedy film on the same lines as Go Goa Gone. A contaminated water pipeline starts a zombie apocalypse in Mumbai's Dombivali area. Who is behind this? How do the protagonists get out of the sticky situation they find themselves in, sorrounded by zombies and how they manage to save the day is what this film is all about.

I was pleasantly surprised at the treatment given to the film by the makers. Very well made with awesome production value, slick editing, gripping storyline and great direction. Keeps you on the edge of your seats all along. No rona dhona, no preaching !!!

There is a perfect balance between horror and comedy elements which is a rarity these days and ensures that you get your money's worth.

Amey Wagh, Lalit Prabhakar, Vaidehi Parshurami & the others have given sincere performances and done full justice to their individual roles. Casting is great, no complaints. The special effects, prosthetics used to create zombies are really worth appreciating 👍👍.

If you have watched and liked Go Goa Gone you will definitely enjoy this one. I enjoyed it !!

My rating: 3.5/5 for the earnest effort put in by the makers. Hope to see more such films in the near future... Adios 🙂

This is a first marathi zombie movie. The movie is totally entertainer. Get more than expected. The story is good. VFX was so good. Comedy time was best. Amey wagh, lalit prabhabar and other starcast acted well. Don't go for negative reviews.

Decent Marathi try at a Zombie movie
surajkailase26 January 2022
It is a decent try of Making a Marathi Zombie movie. It is funny in the first half and has a decent story then it gets slow in the second half. It is mostly predictable which you will come to know if you have watched some Hollywood zombie movies. Even some of the scenes are inspired from them. However you can watch this one for great comic timing of Amey and good performance from Lalit and the remaining cast.

Not upto the mark
rohitlawange12 February 2022
I was impressed by the trailer and hence decided to watch this movie in theatre.

Not gonna lie, the first half is pretty good. But then in second half, you start to lose interest. Plotholes, unexplained things, unnecessary drama.

First half : 9 Second half : 4

Overall : 6

Good : acting, plot, effects and cast Bad : overall story.

Paisa Vassol: An absolute delight for comedy lovers
karanjavkaraakash26 January 2022
Paisa Vasool Movie, it is based on zombies, it is not scary but amazingly crafted to amuse the audience and an engaging plot and excellent performances make sure the movie is an unforgettable experience, the movie needs to be seen in theatres for the amazing experience. And production quality is very good considering it a regional language movie. This movie contains lot of comedy and action sequences, First day first show, worth it.

"Zombivli" has some memorable and likable characters, and the three talents in the main roles were doing good jobs in acting and bringing these characters to life on the screen. However, it was siddharth jadhav who totally stole the scene with his appearance.

BELOW AVERAGE.
MandalBros-520 May 2022
It's really good to see every film industry is trying the zombie genre nowadays. Zombivli is a Marathi language zombie comedy. As I'm a Zom-Com lover, I was really looking forward to it from its announcement. But, unfortunately it didn't offer anything new. Also some scenes were inspired from many classic zombie films.

It's not a bad film like Miruthan, but also couldn't come close to Go Goa Gone. A very few comedy moments worked for me. Maybe because it's not an out-and-out comedy film, as Director tried to convey a message through it. I liked some moments in the film and the ending song was very entertaining. Overall, it's a BELOW AVERAGE FILM. And, as it's rare to see an Indian zombie film, I'll request to give it a watch.

Available on Zee5.

Terribly annoying and boring.
varunraote7 February 2022
Zombivli till the very end can't decide if it wants to fall in the horror genre, the drama genre or the comedy genre. The movie performs a balancing act with all three ingredients and manages to fail disgracefully in all of them. Terrible acting from actors whose theatre skills are limited to romcom characters, terribly shallow plot, and absolutely hideous soundtracks throughout the entire film which make you cringe, avert your eyes and cover your ears in an attempt to avoid the pandemonium playing out on screen. Jokes fall flat and characters suited for comic relief are used for sob scenes.

AN UTTER WASTE OF TIME, MONEY AND YOUR ATTENTION.

Good attempt for a Marathi cinema
boy1324 May 2022
The movie is good and watchable. Tha pace is fast. The acting of supportign actors is very good. Especially the female lead role has justified her character very well. The movie is great if you see it from a Marathi horror perscpective. As theere arent many in this genre. However, if you compare to hollywood standard it feels very low budget and with limited storyline.

I feel Amay Wagh's acting looks bit limited and needs to work more on acting skills for big screen. His character looks confused not very prepared and gives a feel of stage actor.

Zombie film with Marathi Tadka!
satyendr28 May 2022
A well thought film and actually had a logic in it. A good watch if you are a Zombie films lover. A humble request is do not compare hollywood movies like Resident Evil with this one. But definitely better than Go Goa Gone as far as story goes.

Same old Zombie Drama forays into Marathi cinema with comic touch
SAMTHEBESTEST26 January 2022
Zombivli (2022) : Movie Review -

The Zombie concept has become quite a sensation over the past 7 decades, not just for Hollywood but for other cinema Industries too. Back then, George Romero introduced us to the guardian of all Zombie movies with 'Night Of The Living Dead' (1968) and exactly a decade later he went on to challenge it with another fantastic zombie flick 'Dawn Of The Dead' (1978). Hollywood started catching speed with more commercialized directors and then Japanese and Korean industries also showed interest in it. From Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead to Edgar Wright's 'Shaun Of The Dead' (2004) to the latest social media generation's much known Korean zombie-mena 'Train To Busan' (2016), we have seen everything that anyone can bring in this genre. Bollywood had a hilarious vulgar answer to it with 'Go Goa Gone' and the Zombie genre finally saw some potential in the Indian audience. Maharashtra, which contributes the biggest share of audience for Bollywood movies, has now decided to venture into it because somehow we (and the filmmakers too) know that the audience is the same. After spending enough time in the industry - 12 years, that's enough alright, Aditya Sarpotdar has dared to say Yes to the Zombie topic. But how can one go fully-marathi with it? That's where a place called Dombivli comes to the rescue and that's how Zombivli is formed. Meanwhile, Marathi cinema is going through a tough patch, not just commercially but content wise too. It hasn't seen raining classics like it had seen in the first five years of the last decade. Marathi cinema has suffered severely after Sairat with just a few countable exceptions like Naal, Anandi Gopal, Lathe Joshi and few others being a saving grace. In such a crisis, an attempt to breach a new genre was much needed, rather most welcome hence, Zombivli arrives as a new welcome change.

One of the best things about watching Zombie movies is that you don't have to think about the story because you already know it. Technically speaking, there are no cliches left for any writer because we have left it behind way back then, 4 decades ago, unless you just want to use the same story and set it in a different atmosphere to make it look different. Frankly, it doesn't work and to be more frank, it doesn't really matter. Zombivli is the same old story set in a new environment- thankfully in Today's time (considering Lockdown as well) and thankfully it's not boring at all. Yes, there's nothing new except the characters and the formula behind Zombies' formation, but it has everything that all kinds of Marathi audience would easily accept. A soon-to-be parents couple and an emerging hardworking politician are joined by a few neighbours and a couple of media people as the entire Dombivli station is hijacked by Zombies. How they fight out these living dead creatures, how they survive and how they save others is all what Zombivli's script has to offer. Unfortunately I can't say, come on, get over the cliches and give us something new because I know there's nothing as surprising left for this Zombie concept and whatever you are going to show is fine with me. Just don't make any big blunders. Comparing the similarities between Zombivli and those other dozens of zombie movies would be unfair because I don't think the Marathi audience has seen those movies, so let's just call it an original script based on old material.

The film has its strength hidden in the screenwriting rather than the basic writing. A wanna be sensational storyline fumbles, falls down- only to rise up again with the help of local humour. You don't need to do any sort of brainstorming to understand the film as everything here is simple and so neat. Although it lacks the concrete theories while building its fictional tower, it's very much grounded and true to its nature. It has comedy set pieces, but everything is there to bring those gags. Few conflicts do sound illogical but eventually you forget them while the focus is shifted on something else. Well, one of the best things about its screenplay is that you can't Stop at one point and complain because there's so much material in it which keeps you busy all the time. One such is the interval scene. You know at this point they are supposed to go back to the town but how they go is ain't really believable. Had they shown a better reason, say a forceful one, it would have been so great. Musically, it's very situational with 'Vichu Chawla' and similar engaging background score in every face-off scene.

Whatever the writing may lack, the actors do not repeat the mistakes. Amey Wagh is there to play that common working class man and yes he's no Superman. That's what makes his character relevant and logical. Amey, who hasn't been conferred with something like this before, believes in his acting skills to carry it smoothly. His wife is played by Vaidehi Parashurami, who isn't that experienced but is not a newcomer either. She has done enough work to make herself get noticed before, but with Zombivli, she finally gets into nasty zone. One actor who has been carrying his sophisticated image in TV serials, movies and stage dramas- Lalit Prabhakar, also enters into the wild zone. He's that 'much needed' macho guy here (of course, we all have one guy in every zombie/monster film, right?). His accent, body language, attitude everything fits the bill. The supporting cast is okay with everyone showing up once in a while, with one-liners of course.

Aditya Sarpotdar has remained quite a versatile director over the years. He has been consistently changing his genres and even though he didn't try much of an off-beat or original stuff, he has stayed on a level. Zombivli is his foray into Zombie/horror sagas and he surely will remain a true pioneer - in case there'll be a bunch of series or franchises in future. What Zombivli lacks is not at fault here, but what it gains is all that matters. Sarpordar's commercial potboiler isn't too hot but drinkable tepid. It has those visuals looking real and scary enough to create a spine-chilling experience for you. The additional comic touch works in its favour as it would surely please masses. In two hours, it doesn't really drag too down, nor causes a headache. In a nutshell, Zombivli is a nice attempt that fulfills most of its promises but more importantly it kicks off a new beginning for Marathi cinema. May we have more Zombie films in future and may we get better and better with every next step. For now, enjoy this fun-filled yet terrifying ride in the nearest theatres.

A near perfect zom-com
khondsudarshan30 January 2022
Narrative is similar to the Zombieland in the way it brings unrelated characters together. The resemblance could be because very few zombie-comedies. Ending was a little too sweet and the behavioural aspects of zombies at times go unaddressed and haven't got deserved closure. Having said that, it's a fun ride all the way through and with so much expectations, the film doesn't disappoint and keeps hitting hard. Nice to know that marathi films can be right up there with the best amongst the world cinema.

Awful!
amul_capri24 August 2022
I don't understand what the director wanted to do. Make a comedy or a horror zombie movie. It is neither. There are no jump scares or any gore to make it horror and the comedy scenes you see on the trailer is all that is funny in the whole movie. Putting in serious stuff (which mostly forms 70% of the movie) in what is supposed to be a horror comedy movie is boring. When i went in looking at the trailer i though it would be like Chori Cha Mamla, but it is far from it. Avoid if possible.
