Hollywood Hist-o-rama: Katharine Hepburn (1962)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Lasting anywhere between three and four minutes, the Hollywood HIST-O-RAMA series shouldn't be looked at as some sort of documentary that's going to tell you everything about the subject. After all, with such a short running time it would be impossible to go into great details about anything but I'm sure people back when this was made would have at least enjoyed them.

This episode takes a look at the career of Katharine Hepburn as we see some early photos of her as a child and then we get to see her quick rise through Broadway and then of course Hollywood. That's pretty much all we get to "know" about Hepburn but this here isn't meant to be some sort of knowledge check. For the most part I thought this was mildly entertaining and especially some of the photographs. The one thing lacking is that some of the information is incorrect including the narrator saying that Hepburn won her second Oscar for ALICE ADAMS. A little fact checking would have helped. Still, fans of Hepburn will want to check this out considering it's not too long to sit through.
