- Women wear low cut dresses to a dinner party, showing ample cleavage.
- Thornton proposes to Margaret but she interrupts him just as she did the other man. To make it all worse by the time he leaves, he feels she was mocking him.

- Strike workers gather into a mob to confront Thornton at the mill. Margaret encouraged him to speak to them nut when he does they become agitated. As Margaret tries to calm them, A malcontent throws a rock which hits her instead of him, knocking her out. Just then, soldiers come in and attack the crowd with billyclubs. One man is seen knocked out on the ground.
