This 6-minute short film directed by Andy Delaney and Monty Whitebloom and written by the latter depicts nicely the effects of climate change. It's a one-man show starring two-time Golden-Globe nominated actor Lee Pace from Pushing Daisies as a human being who experiences the impact of the constantly rising water level on his way of life if it was this of a polar bear. First it slowly gets in his apartment, then it keeps rising and rising. And as he's a polar bear, he can't just call the plumber. So what will he do? Move up. Shortly afterward, he's living exclusively in the in the attic as everything below is completely flooded, before he's finally forced to move up all the way up to the roof. When he looks around himself standing on top of his house he sees nothing but water. While we see him looking around without hope for help, we hear the voice from a radio reporter telling us how extinction can't be avoided anymore.
This film is as simple as it's effective. It's a welcome addition on an issue which we rarely see at the movies, simply because it's progressing so slowly that it's almost impossible to depict it accurately and yet it's a dangerous trend. I recommend this short film.
