"A film set is a tense place . . . "
pixrox16 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
. . . allows the title character of DIRECTOR'S JOURNEY WITH LEIGH WHANNELL. Earlier, the writer\director of THE INVISIBLE MAN (2020) has confessed to being obsessed with horror movies as a teenager. He certainly seems to be living a charmed life, as the latter condition often presages active school shootings, while the former truism occasionally leads to live rounds being fired on film sets, dethroning presidential impersonators. What a world.

I do not think that it's giving too much away to say . . .

. . . that the director of this transparent dude movie went to the dust bowl nation of Australia and spent 40 days pretending that it was San Francisco. He never gives a reason for this hoax. Did he have some frequent flier miles that had to be used up, prompting him to commit such outrageous malarkey? They do not even have trees with pine needles Down Under, for kangaroo's sake! As this DVD "bonus feature" shows, this film project required scores of blokes running around in "green suits" trying to keep koalas out of the frame. Perhaps this movie honcho has too many points on his California driver's license to return to the Golden State, or maybe there's another sort of legal issue such as the charges pending against that Roman guy. When you think about it, these 11 minutes seem more like a cover-up than a tell-all.
