Great season premiere! But...
Carycomic14 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
...the argument between Roberta and Dee was almost _too_ convincing for comfort. And for two indisputabl reasons.

First off? Roberta ends the argument by giving Dee that old cliche about getting as much respect as you give. Yet, less than two minutes earlier, she instinctively snaps back at Dee (following that admittedly over-sarcastic comment about "waterboarding") with an automatic demand for respect. Seemingly forgetting that true respect has to be earned by _everyone_ before being given to _anyone_! And nobody--not even parents--are exceptions to that rule.

Furthermore, what most parents are usually demanding in such situations is actually courtesy. Because it's courtesy that's owed automatically (though, even then, not unconditionally). Courtesy, however, is no more synonymous with respect than faith is with trust.

Last, but not least? It's true that most of Dee's righteous indignation came from the kind of naivete that only someone who's led a mostly sheltered life can have. But, with regard to her snooping around and seeing what she wasn't intended to see being entirely on her? Nah-uh! Not true. Roberta's half to blame for that. Because, being ex-CIA, she ought to know better than most that _all_ buried truths inevitably get exhumed. And sometimes sooner rather than later.

Bad acting and bad scripts
rob-2640111 October 2021
Queen Latifa is a pretty good actress and the same goes for Chris Noth, but the material they are given to say is terrible. Most of the scripts are ham fisted and sound like they were written by children. Some others in the cast are good as well but some really stink! I think the story line that follows her family is awful!!! No on cares about her daughter or the problems she has.

It's time to revamp this story and eliminate all the schlock especially all the cutesy crap!
