Some good parts, but not entirely satisfying

Please note: This review does not contain spoilers, but does try and focus on the content of this episode and not the series in general, which I enjoyed.

Fitting with the style of the series, the ending was not Hollywood, but nor was it entirely satisfying and more mysterious than gratifying, but maybe that was the point. With a complete absence of flashbacks, the viewer is left none the wiser regarding motives or origins of the characters of Sumner and Drax.

Yes, the acting remains solid and there is some action and drama, and the majority of 'loose ends' are tied up in a series of mini-conclusions, with only one of these being 'off camera'. But I can pretty safely predict that, even though not everything was depicted on-screen, there will be no sequel and the viewer left to predict the final outcome.

I still recommend the series on the whole, but don't expect the full package here.

[6.6] Wish he had stayed in the North

Warning: Spoilers
A multi-colored of an episode in terms of storylines' plots, from interesting to dismally illogical, especially the last two main happenings. The writers producers want that to roll, so it rolls, the hell with any real possibility, twists and implications. So happy that it's over.

Probably the best single tv episode..... and the best ending to a tv show ever.

I've seen them all, that was amazing.

Sloppy writing

Warning: Spoilers
The last episode of the show and it's another mixed bag. The first half, with Peter Mullan, is a bit boring but has some good material and acting. The second part is where the writing falls apart from a rushed and incoherent conclusion. It's great to see Colin Farrell participating again, but none of it is logical given the background of the Baxter character in particular. A pity.

Went out with a whimper

What few story fragments were left towards the end, they were abandoned in the final episode for insufferable filler material, and a few forced and anticlimactic scenes to wrap up a story which never was told properly.

It's film making at it's worst, starting weak with little talent and poor material, and running out even of that towards the end .

I suspect funds ran out quite early into the production as well, considering how the first couple of episodes appeared to built up to something, but soon lead to a rushed attempt to just get it over with, in the most cost effective way and story telling be damned .

Colin Farrell's character might be the most obvious failure of this shoddy effort; apart from being unconvincing and poorly acted, it revealed many of the flaws in the screenplay and the directing as well .

Shame really, the premise looked so promising , but just couldn't deliver .

Also annoying how many fake reviews and ratings the social media dept. For the show has put out here and elsewher on the web ....
