Not as good as I was expecting, but it wasn't that bad.

Warning: Spoilers
This was an alright finale. It was a little more underwhelming than I was expecting it to be. The dialogue was pretty weak, which, I guess you could say, was always the case throughout the season, but it was really the case this time. But Todd was the reason it was an alright finale and not worse. Jon Bass' performance in this episode was his best as good ol' Todd Aberdeen.

Ezekiel and Prudence are officially together now, which I expected, but I couldn't care less. Benny and Trig reconciled, which I expected, but I couldn't care less about that, even more so than with Ezekiel and Prudence getting together. Todd's death was weird. Maybe it's because he was one of my top three favorite characters, but I think his death was unnecessary, even more so when you take into account that Trig was spared and "redeemed." Yet Todd wasn't and was also killed. I don't get it.

All-in-all, I think this was a weak finale and one of the weakest episodes in the season, although I'll admit that the final goodbye between Benny and Ezekiel was bittersweet. It's unfortunate, especially since I was expecting it to be better than it was. It wasn't that funny or enjoyable. I imagine that will be an unpopular opinion, given that my opinions regarding each episode seem to be just that. And I feel like some people will really like this episode, as a finale; and as an episode. The main reason for that will probably be the whole sequence of Ezekiel dancing for Todd, just like the fourth episode with Ezekiel's dancing routine. But just like that instance didn't elevate that episode for me, the equivalent of that instance in this episode didn't elevate this episode for me.

In hindsight, the peak of this season was definitely at the beginning. That was, of course, not apparent while watching each episode, week-by-week; only after watching the entire season did that become obvious. I think the season started to become a little weak once it reached the halfway point. I don't think it necessarily started going downhill: there were some highs. But there were more lows. Regardless, this season was still something to watch these past weeks, and it was entertaining sometimes: even though it started getting weak at times, I don't think it was that bad.

Warning: Spoilers
This was probably the weakest season of the show, although each installment of Miracle Workers had its highs and lows.

The goofy stuff with Ezekiel dressing up and dancing went too far, funny at first maybe, but eventually the act got tired. I guess you could say that is a good way to sum up this series as a whole: they pick one joke and run with it for far too long.

It was an up and down season as a whole, but at least it ended with a lot of laughs here.

The finale was a solid enough episode to leave us wanting more and it gave us hope that we will get another season down the stretch. The world of television is much better when Miracle Workers is on it than without.

Hilarious Satire - S03 Review
JoshuaMercott5 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The sheer spoofy satire of this series is parody at one of its finest. While the previous two seasons were notably better, "Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail" did hold its own regardless. Season 3 brought with it yet another 'historical twist' of fun-filled humour and entertainment, with plenty of 'Wild West' flourishes.

Directors Andrew DeYoung, Steve Buscemi (the very same), Dan Schimpf, Blake McClure, and Claire Scanlon did great work this season. Writers Dan Mirk, Robert Padnick, Jared Miller, Zeke Nicholson, Taylor Cox, Andrew Farmer, Carrie Kemper, Kelly Lynne D'Angelo, Henry Michaels, Matthew Bass, and Theodore Bressman all did notable work scripting season 3 of "Miracle Workers".

Good cinematography by Blake McClure and Nick Medrud. Crisp editing and production design. Some nice hair-makeup and costumes as well. Art direction and set decoration, along with VFX, did noteworthy work on "Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail" S03.

Daniel Radcliffe as Reverend Ezekiel Brown was amazing. Geraldine Viswanathan as Prudence Aberdeen was great. Karan Soni as the gunslinging bounty hunter was notable. Jon Bass as Todd Aberdeen was memorable. Steve Buscemi as wild-west fugitive Benny the Teen was great.

Young Levi, played by River Drosche, was remarkable. Granny McGill, played by Mary Anne McGarry, was quite good. Farmer John, played by Lamont Thompson, was good. So was Martha, played by Tammy Dahlstrom. Phaedra, played by Erin Darke, was notable. Trig, played by Quinta Brunson, was great.

All other cast and crew did interesting work on "Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail".

This season captured a funnier shade of how life may have been for the early American settlers, particularly in and around the famed Oregon Trail. Hilarious dialogues and witty timing made season 3 of "Miracle Workers" a fun watch.

Slutty Potter

Weakest season in comparison, it felt like the writers were joking around and wrote this episode or maybe this entire season was written without much thought. Concept was good , execution was bad. Finale episode was very amateur and predictable. 1st and 2nd season both were really good.

Although acting wise daniel was awesome but some people may not be able to watch harry potter again, given what all he did in this season.

Season 4 should be (In future) all about robots, time machines, etc. That would be fun.

Season Three Review
southdavid19 February 2022
I've watched the previous two seasons of "Miracle Workers" and generally found them to be decent if slight times. Truth be told, I found this third season to be weaker than the earlier ones and unable to mine as much from its premise.

A small community, held together by Pastor Ezekiel Brown (Daniel Radcliffe), decide that their future lies in Oregon. They secure the services of a brutal outlaw, Benny The Teen (Steve Buscemi) to guide them on their perilous journey. But Benny brings two problems of his own. Firstly, he's being trailed by a bounty hunter (Karan Soni) and secondarily, his daughter Trig (Quinta Brunson) who is trying to establish her credentials and come out from the shadow of her infamous father.

I think I might have said virtually all I had to say in the opening paragraph. Taking its premise from the famous game (and, I suppose, the actual trek that explorers took) unfortunately doesn't seem to have has many veins of comedy to mine as the previous ones did. I'd also assume that Covid restrictions meant that the guest stars, so prevalent especially in season two, weren't really possible for this one. Even Lolly Adefope was unable to return and, presumably, play the role that Quinta Brunson takes.

It's just not funny enough this time and it became a bit of a struggle to get through it. I'd imagine I'll still be back for season four, but unless there's a marked up take in quality, perhaps we've had all were going to get from this series.
