I will first admit that I am a huge Boosh fan and I can't get enough of them.

The whole show is just great from start to finish and you get to see all of your favorite characters return and amaze you with their greatness.

The best thing about the live tour is that Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding really got to let loose without worrying about BBC getting in their way, and oh boy do they let loose.

There is a script that is followed most of the time but the fact that it is live means you get to see the great improv skills these guys have.

Plain and simple its great. Anybody who says otherwise must not know what The Mighty Boosh are all about.

A massive disappointment.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Mighty Boosh's TV series and first live tour. It was crazy, original and funny. Unfortunately, I'm unable to say any of those things about this outing.

While Howard and Vince's first live experience was an actual play, punctuated with the usual Boosh banter, this show was more of a montage of tired and unnecessary characters getting a 15 minute window. We see the return of Tony Harrison, the Crack Fox and of course, but only briefly, Naboo and Bollo. The latter two of these characters are great - I dare say they were two of the best from the TV series.

The 15 minute windows the characters get are used as a re-run of old jokes and messy script writing. I understand that it's Noel Fielding and Julian Barett's style of writing messy scripts and acting around them, but there's too much distraction and what seems like filling in for time here.

I would have given this 1 star, if not for the regular Boosh musical numbers. While most tracks are a reprise from the TV series, they punctuate the otherwise boring and messy script. Also, consider one star of this review to be for Howard Moon's 'jazz' photo shoot: the only bit that actually made be laugh out loud.

It suffices to say that this was the only thing I've watched recently where I was so bored I contemplated skipping sections out. I definitely will not be re-watching and I urge you not to waste your time on it, even if you are a Boosh fan.

Give It A Chance.

The Boosh's second (televised) foray into a live production may catch a lot of flak from some, but unfairly so, I say. The first show was a good mix of original jokes and nods to the TV show, and it actually followed a story. This one...not so much. Future Sailors seems more like a parade, as the boys briefly (and somewhat patronizingly) show off a host of familiar characters for a few minutes of rehashed jokes and "improvised" stage mishaps that quickly become tiresome. That's definitely the detracting factor, and you may even skip a few bits out of boredom. That's okay. Come for the Boosh, stay for the music. Oh yee gods, THE MUSIC.

Ignoring the only slightly-funny character and joke retreads, if you come into FS expecting a concert, the experience changes considerably for the better. Whereas Boosh Live is heavy on story, Sailors doles out one helluva musical experience with complete reckless abandon (thereby balancing each other out). A good number of the songs and crimps from the TV series appear here ON STEROIDS. Remember Eels? That 1:10 minute-long song? Noel Fielding- joined by the entire Boosh Band- manages to stretch it out to nearly 10 minutes, and it is AWESOME. In fact, every song and crimp performed is pumped up to an exciting, satisfying level. Future Sailors ends with a delightfully twisted, show-stopping crimp medley that totally brings the house down (and is joined by a few familiar, surprise faces).

The budget is noticeably larger this time around as well, most notably in character costumes and set design. This too greatly benefits Future Sailors in ways Boosh Live did not.

Oh, and if you were upset at all about Sugar Puffs' seemingly plagiarism of The Boosh's crimp style in a recent advert, let's just say due retribution is served here.

Insulting

I enjoyed the first Might Boosh live stage show. Even though it went on far too long, I liked that it had a lot of extraneous stuff outside of the main story section of the show and there was a lot of interaction with the crowd.

THIS show, however, was just insulting to anyone who paid more than 50p to watch it on DVD. The humour is weak and there is no main story! The first half is all long, drawn-out introductions to characters and the second half legitimately feels like a bunch of sixth form drama students who made it up half an hour before they went on stage.

Really very poor. Don't waste your time.
