Possibly my favourite of this series episodes ...

Warning: Spoilers
I have been watching Lark Rise since the very beginning, and have loved every episode on every step of the way. There are so many little, intricate stories that pass between the characters, which makes for an entertaining and different watch every time.

This episode, however, has probably been my favourite of the series so far; I say this in the hopes that next week's - the conclusion to series three - will be even better! *fingers crossed* Fisher Bloom has returned to Candleford once again. You remember him, from the last series: a clockmaker, he came to Candleford, and he and Laura had a little thing for each other for a while. But then her father intervened and opened Fisher's eyes. Fisher left Candleford and returned to the road, and Laura was left heart-broken.

Now, he's back, bringing with him the promise of tears and heart-break (as Twister so kindly put it).

Laura, now with Daniel, is faced with a difficult decision to make. She had believed herself to have moved on when Fisher left, but now he's beginning to reignite the feelings she had for him when he was last in Candleford. Of course, this was always going to spell trouble, with a capital 'T'.

Meanwhile, everyone else is enjoying Mischief Night - the one night of the year where you are allowed to sneak around and get up to no good. Edmund, Laura's brother, plans to save her and Daniel's relationship by telling Fisher that his sister and Daniel are to be married; at this point, you'd be hard pressed not to feel extremely sorry for Fisher at the look of devastation on his face.

I think the reason I loved this episode so much was because it explored depth of feelings, loyalty, and friendship. And it all came together on this one cold, Mischief Night, where everyone scurries about in long cloaks and lanterns, setting the perfect scene.

So now, I am eagerly awaiting Sunday's next instalment - will she pick Daniel, or will she pick Fisher? There's only one way to find out ...

Overall, I will give this episode a 9/10. I would have been more generous, but I am still praying that the next episode will be even better, so that I can give it a 10/10.
