Zach is awesome... you'll see later!

Warning: Spoilers
I've watched the entire series several times. One thing is for sure, the character of Zach is grossly under used throughout the series. He comes off as a meathead right now as he is introduced, but he turns out to be a really funny, genuine and charming repeat guest. I think the greatest failure (if you had to list them for this terrific series) is that they didn't mix him into the episodes more often. He's dim, but always positive and encouraging with the boys, stands up for them, shows up for them when they need him... honestly, he is the real life super hero the boys always love in their comics and he is never really appreciated for it. Chuck Lorre missed out on some potentially amazing material by not writing him into more episodes.

Amy Arrives and Blows Up the Moon
Hitchcoc7 October 2021
The first part of this involves one of Penny's knuckleheaded boyfriends. He isn't just not smart--he's a bonafide idiot. Penny gets drunk and has a wild evening with Leonard who goes back ten steps. The guys decide to enroll Sheldon in a dating site, using typical Sheldon responses to questions. What happens is the introduction of Amy Farrah Fowler.

The Lunar Excitation (#3.23)
ComedyFan201030 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode we are introduced to two new characters, Zack and Amy. Zack is so adorable. He is dumb but so sweet and also funny, glad he keeps on coming back. The idea of finding the perfect match for Sheldon was also very funny. And Amy meeting him and really being very much like a female Sheldon was a great scene and season ending. Too bad they changed Amy a bit afterwards. Her being a female Sheldon would have been way better.

"The Lunar Excitation" is a fine third season ender of "The Big Bang Theory"
tavm1 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
In this season finale ep of "The Big Bang Theory" from the previous year: The guys are up on the roof to get objects on the moon reflected back on earth. Leonard decides to invite Penny up despite their recent breakup. Penny agrees to go-with her new beau who turns out to be really dumb with Sheldon first saying how perfect he is for Penny before saying she could do much better. Penny later confronts Leonard about how he ruined it for her since she now can't be satisfied with dumb hunks! Leonard decides to try to even the score by coming to Leslie Winkle (once again, Sara Gilbert) for another recreational sex. She slams the door in his face. Meanwhile, Raj and Howard have answered on online dating poll in Sheldon-speak to see if the latter gets a match. He does, which chagrins Sheldon to the bone but since Raj has hidden a smelly sock which Sheldon earlier freaked out about on the roof, Sheldon reluctantly goes...While I know about the rest of the ep from reading the synopsis on this site, that's all I got to see on the disc I recorded this on since the visuals became like pixilated during that time. But if what I read was as funny as what I think it would be if I was able to watch it, I think this was a great way to end this third season of this uniquely smartly written and popular series. So on that note, "The Lunar Excitation" seems like another excellently funny ep of "The Big Bang Theory".

Why I love TBBT over Friends
GeraltTargaryen3 July 2022
The best thing that I love about TBBT so far (apart from every scene with Sheldon in it) is how it dealt with Leonard and Penny's relationship. That is, crisp and clear, and not overstressing it to the point of obnoxiousness. Of course I would have loved to see a comedy about four physicists and no long-term romance at all, but I guess that's too much to ask for. Looking forward to the rest seasons and hoping that TBBT keeps it this way instead of falling into the Ross-Rachel cliche:)

Stupid
degaswilson-7814610 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't think Zack asked a stupid question about blowing up the moon.

Lasers do explode things when you aim them at things. Perfect example, when the guys aim lasers at balloons and they exploded.

Lasers do zap you're eyes to correct vision.

So it's not a stupid question. It's a really smart question that I would ask myself. Just to be curious.

Zack is not supid, he's just asking questions that a regular person would ask. But these guys think it's a stupid question because they are smart and believe everyone should know what they know.

That was my problem with this show. Sheldon thought he was the smartest person in the room. And when he wasn't he was jealous and acting like a dick to the person who was smarter than him He even did it to Howard at one time, by saying he wasn't smart enough to take his class he was teaching.

I am watching re-runs of this show and every episode is pissing me off more and more.

Season 3 Review
IPyaarCinema10 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The majority of this season is awesome. All the episodes that focus more on the drama between Leonard and Penny than just the humorous fact that their relationship can exist just slow the show down. Season three is an amazing season and the writers do a great job balancing the shows' need to have some seasonal arcs while keeping with the amazing single episode storylines Notable episodes: The Adhesive Duck Deficiency, The Pants Alternative, The Staircase Implementation, Spaghetti Catalyst The Lunar Excitation.

The Lunar Excitation
studioAT31 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Penny has a night of angry, drunken sex with Leonard, much to his confusion. Meanwhile, Howard and Raj search for Sheldon's perfect match online.

Having toyed with the idea of pairing Howard off with Bernadette (they were broken up at this stage, according to a reference from him a couple of episodes ago) the writers now decided to pull a bit of a twist - pairing Sheldon up.

This whole storyline works a bit better than the one involving Penny and Leonard, but on this whole this is a very good episode of the show to wrap up the 3rd series.

I've enjoyed the 3rd year. It started well, and other than the standard few ropey episodes here and there it's been good fun.
