It's time to know Alo, the red-haired boy always wearing that weird bone necklace. Alo lives in the countryside (which gives us the opportunity to shift our attention from Bristol for a while) with mum, dad, the dog Rags and Dewi, a mysterious man helping his father in the farming works. Poor Alo: his mother is what we could define a castrating woman, both to him and to her husband, and, when she's made a decision, she doesn't turn back. So, when she decides Alo must leave college, Alo must leave college. Things happen in the background: Franky and Mini keep hiding something, and Grace and Rich's relationship finally gets to the next level (but we don't see it, a choice somewhat delicate but perhaps disappointing for the couple's fans), while Alo struggles to grow up and be more than the weird farm boy. A good episode, but not great ("Liv" still the best so far): season is approaching to the finale and we still have other surprises to find out.

Fun, but absolute nonsense

For the penultimate episode we get the story of Alo, Alan. Skins has always been known for being edgy, relevant, cutting edge drama, bizarrely the writers opted for farce, whereas with every other character you almost dislike them until you hear their story, with poor Alo it's the reverse, you start of liking him, but do so less as the episode finishes. He's the stereotypical farm boy idiot, with zero sense and an overbearing farmily, there are some funny moments, but on the whole the episode lacks any real depth.
Useless Farm Boy Wants To Lose Virginity and Not Grow Up

Alo yells out for the morning. He goes to his room to watch porn on two monitors. One with a man and woman on the right, the other monitor shows a larger woman with big breasts and a banana. He relieves in his sock. Ew.
It is his birthday but mom wants him home doing chores.
Alo gets a call from the metal music friend that a female friend has a girl paid for sex ready for him at his surprise party. The girl is larger and crosseyed. The tractor his dad gives him stops and after some grumbles his dad lets him off.
Alo wakes up in his bed with penis drawings and virgin written on his forehead. His parents are furious. They plan to make him quit college and help out at the farm where they can watch him. He wears his beige suit.
The farm vehicle stops in front of the school drawing attention. Students laugh at the vehicle and family.
Alo sits outside as his parents discuss with a male. Suddenly Alo sees an asian porn magazine on a string. He is led to his friends who have come to save him by taking him. They all agree to go to the pub.
At the pub burlesque music plays and a plump woman dances in lingerie as men fawn over her. The group sits together. We see her take off her heels and at last her lingerie showing nipple pasties.
Mini and Grace arrive. It looks funny to see Mini stand next to the stripper. Grace joins in and dances with the stripper a bit before being tugged away by Mini. Mini points out the trashiness of the place.
Alo is taken back home and he accidentally blows up the stable where Bessie is due to his cigarette being in contact with propane.
The next day his parents are leaving for the day and he is expected to stay on farm grounds finishing chores. Alo fills up condoms with milk and eggs. He calls the group over and they have a condom throwing party. Grace reminds metal boy of what they were planning to do before and brings up doing it for real tonight.
Alo tells the group to call up everyone to his farm for a party. Franky goes upstairs and sees through the crack Liv and Matty having sex.
Alo's parents have come home and he suggests everyone getting naked and running out. The partiers ask if his parents are farmers and he replies. The next question is do they have guns? Yes. Everyone screams and runs.
Alo's parents are shocked and his dad faints. Alo's mom tears off the posters on his wall and packs up his stuff. The dog is to go as well.
Alo goes to metal boy's home and the boy looks elated. He had sex with Grace, finally lost his virginity. Alo congratulates him and goes sadly to the hospital. He sees the other old farm worker and his dog. He is taken back home.
He tells mom he will be grown up and start doing. He heads off to remove the large rock with his tractor. Dad comes and suggests to use alternate handles.
