Where Is the Devil
Hitchcoc16 January 2017
This is a nicely sophisticated episode. We are made privy now to what is going on with the Larsens. Once Sarah tells the Larsens that Rosie drowned and lies that she was already unconscious to spare her, Mitch begins to obsess about the drowning, imagining how horrible it must be. We are made aware that one of Richmond's campaign cars contained Rosie's body. She was alive when she went into the lake. Richmond is asked to keep quiet about the events of Rosie's death for the sake of the investigation, but word of it leaks. Also, one of the campaign leads is accused of being the leak. Meanwhile, Sarah and Stephen begin to investigate the cage and find that there is sexual involvement by the Skateboarder and his rich friend. Also, a pedophile janitor witnessed an assault on Rosie. He has been able to look through a hole in the wall. He almost dies when he jumps from a window. Holden gets him to admit what he has been up to. He says that the devil did. Why he says this is revealed.

The Killing - El Diablo
Scarecrow-883 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The third episode once again shows the Larsens dealing with their grief and pain as the newspaper in the city plasters Richmond's name on the front page due to his campaign car being involved with Rosie's death. The mole supposedly is exposed through an email (which could have been hacked, setting him up), discovered by investigator Nathan to Richmond as Jamie…but is Gwen the culprit behind the conspiracy? Meanwhile, Sarah and Stephen try to determine what happened in the cage on the night of the school dance, soon getting a phone recording providing them with two kids that took sexual advantage of Rosie…a dope kid skateboarder named Kris (Gharret Paon) or affluent businessman's (with his hand in a lot of pies in the city) son, Jasper. Jamie's exit from the campaign could be to the detriment of Richmond if Gwen is the one sticking the knife in his back…she sure served up Jamie without batting a lash. Jamie's idea of utilizing political powerhouse, Ruth (Lee Garlington), due to her bum plumber husband, is taken by Richmond and ran with, with him leaving out knowing that his contribution was used even as he's considered a traitor weighing out his options depending on the finish of the race. Kris' involvement with Jasper in regards to Rosie certainly posits him as a prime suspect in her death. The inability to escape the loss of her daughter, Mitch listens to the telephone tape machine recording from Rosie and trying to understand Rosie's final moments through a submersion in her bathtub water only fuels her torment. The Killing isn't an easy show…it deals with heavy issues and there are few moments that allow us to catch our breath and not wallow in the turmoil that seems to engulf the characters. Sarah's dealing with a case that doesn't allow her to leave Seattle, and her son's disappointment in leaving certainly doesn't do her any favors (and the fiancé sure is growing tired of her absence). Sarah's boss not signing her off because he doesn't think Stephen is ready to take lead of the investigation serves as a slight bit of tension between the partners, but the show indicates that they have good chemistry and work well off each other. The episode's title refers to a pervert janitor (with a pedophile record) referring to Jasper (in a devil mask) as he molests Rosie in the cage. The janitor took a dive out an apartment window when Sarah and Stephen seemed to be on the verge of arresting him.
