Better than most interview shows
ryan_mccarthy908 February 2023
Most tv hosts don't make the effort to interview a wide spectrum of guests like Wallace does. His guests have backgrounds in science, religion, sports, entertainment, government. There is no hidden agenda here. If you want to stick to shows that complement your narrative, then this show isn't for you.

But it's a new show, he's still finding his rhythm. He should interview guests in the style of "Inside the Actor's Studio." While it's not the most favored form, I think they should add a live audience who are able to ask individual questions. There's more risk involved, and sometimes these moments go viral.

News programs are too afraid of live audiences. Partisan lectures or entertainers travel to universities, but we don't have this spectrum of guests on weekly televisions shows willing to speak freely, whether it's science, news, or inspirational stories from entertainment industry guests.

Get a live audience who have the ability to be involved. Up the game. Create YouTube shorts. Go viral. Give Chris the publicity he deserves.

Light weight interviews from a supposed heavy weight.
IceQueen9926 September 2022
Aside from the interview with the verbally minimalist Justice Breyer, I learned absolutely nothing from any of the other interviews. These are soft ball, non-deep dive interviews and you can find the same information on IMDB or just about anywhere. Is this just a CNN filler show? The excessive commercials were more informative. I think they need to start looking for another Sunday evening option to prop up their ratings because this is Entertainment Tonight-level programming at best. I thought that Chris Wallace was more of a heavy hitter. If he's at CNN for a new, less demanding chapter of his life (which I think he is) this will not help CNN in the least. I will not be watching again.

Chris Wallaces New show ,no better than his streaming debut
smalpecker-640773 July 2022
Chris better start talking to fox to see if he can get his old job back which was very successful there,He is a disaster on CNN. This show wont last long maybe a little longer than his streaming debut on CNN didbefore it went down in flames. He should just retire if he thinks CNN is going to be a success obviously his judgement is flawed now.

interesting
judybrilliant10 October 2022
I can't understand the negative reviews. I watched this past Sunday and found the interviews all interesting. It was a nice variation of people in different fields. It offered a sense of who the people really are. When appropriate, Wallace asked the tough questions (Ok, I'll grant he didn't push too hard when answers were evasive in the case of the doctor, but still important issues were raised. Because of that I might have given it a 9 but I wanted to counteract all the low ratings that made no sense to me). Marc Cuban came across as very human and likable. Also, it's useful to know about his prescription business which i might use Miles davis' interview offered a great overview of music history of the twentieth century. I/m definitely looking forward to the next show.

Horrid
Vitameatavegamin25 September 2022
Who's talking to Chris Wallace? Apparently nobody important. It would be better after watching this if he stayed at home and just talked to himself. Boring, horrible, predictable, biased dribble.

He's not his father, he is no Mike Wallace. No matter how hard he tries the truth of the matter is nobody wants to see his puss on TV in any format or on any TV show. What part of that does he not understand? He has no valuable offerings of any type of decent messaging other than his very biased one-sided political views and I'll tell you something, even those are very predictable.

Is HBO that desperate for content? Apparently they are.

Love it, but Chris Wallace deserves better
ldamartin15 October 2022
I love the show and seeing Chris Wallace step far away from Fox, yet I am disappointed with CNN for not realizing the journalistic icon they have in Chris Wallace and giving him a show with more honest journalism (I love CNN, but they, like so many others, have become so dramatic and inflammatory).

Chris Wallace provides hard-hitting, honest, factual interviews. The man could elicit important information from a rock.

Even though I have found the non-political guests very interesting and enjoyable, CNN is missing a great opportunity in Chris Wallace to mix it up a bit with his amazing political knowledge and stamina to respectfully "beat up on" some politicians who need it sometimes.

I Like Spending. Time With Chris Wallace
tkdlifemagazine20 June 2023
While I don't watch every episode of this series of interviews with Chris Wallace the ones I have watched are very well done. This one on one sit down series ranges from guests from the arena of politics, entertainment, sports, music, and more. Wallace has an engaging and enjoyable interview style. He asks thoughtful and hard hitting questions, but is not outrageous for the sake of shock value. The format and timing of the series make each episode a great way to spend some time when you don't have multiple hours to be entertained. The guest clearly respect, and most of all, trust Chris Wallace and that makes this one really good.

The bigger question: why is anyone talking to Chris Wallace?
gerardibr6 October 2022
I was pleased to see the 3.6 rating when I googled this after watching episodes. I half-heartedly made it through the interview with Shania Twain, then listened to Alex Rodriguez's ego and him fall all over Warren Buffet...a lot...like I stopped listening to it and felt pretty disgusted. It occurred to me as I looked at the rest that I don't care about what any of these people are up to, and not confident Chris Wallace was going to make me care with the right questions. The two I watched struck me as very curated and scripted, lacking any real moments that come from curve ball questions or the right follow-up questions. Add on the tone and cadence of Chris' voice that harkens back to broadcasting yonder and should have died with Cronkite, and I am left wondering who gave this the green light.

Where is all the hate coming from?
dlmiley31 October 2022
I think a lot of the hateful reviews are coming from those prejudiced against Chris Wallace since he came from Fox News. He was actually respected by both sides as being a good journalist. I find his current show very interesting and entertaining. His intelligence shows in the questions he asks, and he is a much better interviewer than predecessors like Larry King and Piers Morgan. Just look at how he pressed Pete Buttigieg on Biden's age, inflation and Biden relief funding. So contrary to the mean-spirited and inaccurate reviews I have seen here, he definitely not a "lightweight" interviewer. I recommend you give this show a chance and make up your own mind. And I hope CNN moves the show to better night and time since trying to compete with 60 minutes and the NFL seems to be at best ill-advised. I am glad he is on HBO Max so I can watch when I want.

CNN Fired Great Anchors to Pay for Chris Wallace?!
drakejones4 May 2024
The show is a waste of time and CNN's money. Chris has a knee-jerk contrarian malcontent on the right to piss off rational people and three "normal" people kicking topics around like a hacky sack. The show has little to no redeeming value and definitely not informative.

Far to much opinion and round-table back-and-forth. During live events that may be fine, but CNN literally revolves around group discussion now. Why? Because CNN's upper management is a non-introspective clown show trying to compete with mindless garbage over at FOX that is easy on the simple mind. CNN should get back into the news business. Forensic Files reruns and stream of consciousness diatribes are better suited to Fox.

Real Journalism
vriyer24 May 2023
The role of a journalist is to challenge and move their interviewee to defend and refute the presumptive narrative and allow them to articulate their alternative. They bring the facts, allow responses for general criticism, and refute the falsehoods. A bad journalist gives out soft ball questions or overly challenges and attacks their guest because arguing looks good on TV. There is a reason why Chris Wallace can interview anyone. Its because his interviews are challenging but fair. A great show. I have been partial to the political interviews, because interviewing actors and the like ain't that interesting to me.

Chris Wallace Interview of Nancy Pelosi
bzzwgrn23 January 2023
Grateful for the opportunity to see the outstanding interview of Speaker Pelosi by such a seasoned newsman as Chris.

Chris was at his finest - I (for one) have missed him greatly; he seems to have a clarity of thought and no need to sensationalize the news.

A breath of fresh air! Thoroughly enjoyed the frank and upfront interview: discussion and questions.

Very much hoping for a weekly show featuring Chris Wallace - he seems to be an unbiased news person - America is hungry for this kind of news presentation. Could not have been more pleased! CNN or MSNBC or PBS are possibilities for a permanent venue for this type of presentation - hoping to see more of him!

Low score because it's on HBO
fherrera7026 January 2023
I liked it. I thought Chris could have hit harder but I also thought when he did it was too uncomfortable enough for me. I think it has. I felt annoyed when Chris was being a D but I think the lefties brought in enough to defend themselves. I do like the Wallace is equipped with enough references to make me believe that he actually wants to interwoven those he is interviewing. I like that there was clips to reference but I don't like the old school way they did it. Very Siskel and Ebert of them. I also like that no one seems to get upset ar least in the final edit and it's a shame that Wallace.
