Mystery vs Superfluity
itwperiod29 August 2022
The pure consistency is one of the things that places this series above the rest. The analog style footage serves only to strengthen the intrigue of the series, and remains present throughout. Mystery is built gradually, so that the series still has a lot of unexplored depths while still showcasing a lot of interesting details.

All of the 3d environments look tangible and real, and on top of that a lot of the coloring in some shots especially looks great.

Also, there is some plot structure, enough for there to be a narrative to follow while still not giving away too many details. The result is a sort of freeform narrative, although it is much more structured than the typical layered analog horror franchise, EG Local 58 or The Mandela Catalogue.

A lot of the reasons this has become so popular have to do with how high quality it is. The analog aesthetic, the crisp sound design, the intuitive and consistent narrative, and the top notch editing (beginning sequence of Missing Persons, the entirety of Report) all combine to create this internally consistent and fascinating parallel world, that delivers while still leaving way for possibilities ahead.

As a result, I look forward to each next entry more than I look forward to most mainstream shows. Not superfluous, not lacking, just complex.

Endless Yellow...
azathothpwiggins21 November 2022
With THE BACKROOMS, a series of short videos designed to disorient and terrify, Kane Parsons has created a nightmare world of utter desolation and anxiety. It's a bizarre realm where nothing complies with logic or the common, sane view of reality.

Imagine waking up in a place that's just a labyrinth of unfathomable, unending dread. A place that's not so much a location as it is a self-constructed trap where humans attempt to make sense of its continuous hallways, rooms, and passages. Where something lurks. Something that only computes in our darkest dreams.

Parsons has taken horror into a whole new direction, by aiming straight for our basest fears: isolation, abandonment, eternal dullness, flatness, and sudden jolts of inescapable terror. Ultimately, as with all great horror efforts, THE BACKROOMS taps directly into our fear of the unknown, as well as our fear of death. It holds us in its grip, and won't let us go until we face it...

Best tv found footage show of all time
gabrieldascenzo-2578629 September 2022
It actually appears to be YouTube videos of this yellow rooms footages alternated to scientific videos with a random context. Actually, whoever says that the show doesnt makes any sense, missed the lore and the chronological order of this tv show, and if we find the connection (a lot of YouTube videos have talked about that)we can arrive to the conclusion that The backrooms tv show by Kane Parsons its the best found footage show of all time. Its even more statically cruel and violent than cannibal Holocaust, because in CH the violence is graphical meanwhile in the backrooms the static location actually assoults our mind to create a persistent state of anxiety, and going on with the show can lead to loose the sanity. Slow, creepy, unnerving, how the exploration of the backrooms was described in that 4chan post,mr parsons made a 3d version that can be a competitor of all the horror movies of all time and its actually more than most of them.

LOVE IT!!!
ZackFilmzOfficial9 December 2022
I Absolutely LOVE This TV Series.

Its Evolved Into What Has Become A Great Horror Series From Just Back In January 2022, When Kane Pixels Made The First Episode Of The Series.

The First Episode Of Season 2 Is Amazing Aswell!

Love The Sets And Everything Is Just AMAZING!

Kane Made An Absolute Masterpiece Out Of This, And I Hope It Continues For A LONGGGGG Time, Even If Work And Time Need To Progress, Its All Worth It For This Series.

This Is Honestly Better Then ANY, And I Mean, ANY Analog Horror Series, The Environments Is Super Realistic, All Of The Async Research Institute's Company Jobs, EVERYTHING!

Cant Wait For More!

Perfect psychological horror

Warning: Spoilers
Kane Parsons created a masterpiece still waiting to be tearned into a feature length film by A24 as of writing this. The Backrooms is a place where if you noclip out of reality find yourself, there are a multitude of levels depicting liminal spaces, basically its own sub-genre "liminal horror". In this series we follow multiple people like a teenage filmer as of episode 1 or Async, company that invented the first door into this dimension. In one of the final episodes found footage 2 we follow a girl venturing into the backrooms refreshing it back to episode 1 both of the main characters discover that there is indeed living creatures.
